Title: Wave 1, 2, 3 & 4 concept ships
Post by: TeaLeaf on March 23, 2015, 01:30:33 PM
I'm sure I will have missed some ships, so point them out of you see a gap (and tell me which wave they belong to please so I can update the post).

Wave 1 - we're pretty much all done here, bar the obvious Scythe and Bengal carrier.  The latter in particular we'll not see until the PU.

Avenger
Aurora
300i
Freelancer
Hornet
Constellation
P52 Merlin
Vanduul Scythe
Bengal

Wave 2 - again, mostly done here with most of the missing ships PU-bound, although we'll see the Idris in Squadron 42.

M50
Cutlass
Gladiator
Starfarer
Retaliator
Caterpillar
Idris
Khartu-Al
Banu Merchantman
Mustang

Wave 3 - bizarrely, wave 3 seems the most complete as we've seen all of them for sale apart from the Hull C.  Perhaps the Hull C will be the next concept sale?

RSI Orion
Origin 890 JUMP
Aegis Reclaimer
Anvil Carrack
MISC Hull C
Drake Herald

Wave 4 - this is the wave I am looking forward to now, with the Endeavour & Vanguard peaking my interest.   I suspect that I'll be swapping something in my hangar for the Endeavour, just not sure what yet!

MISC Endeavour-class Research Platform
Anvil Aerospace Crucible Repair Ship
Deep-space Fighter (Vanguard)
Boarding Ship (Prowler)
Passenger Liner (Starliner)
Third Starter

Which ship is going to tempt you?

Bulldog here.  I lack a fighter apart from starters tbh.

I still have 3 LTI heralds in storage, and might sell them for some profit (hopefully) and finance the Bulldog with the money raised.

Or I could always CCU one of them anniversary starter LXs.

Not that it detracts from the conversation, but the Bulldog is now called the Vanguard, and will be the next concept ship as it's needed for Squadron 42.

it goes on sale next week for $250, so that'll be $300 for us in the UK.

Yeah, not happening on my end.  That's a stupid amount of money for a fighter.

For comparisons sake, an andromeda is 212 euros..

The prowler looks interesting. Stealthy and lets you board ships and take them :)

Quote from: RSIEsperia Prowler

Named after the UPE military designation, the Prowler is a modernized version of the infamous Tevarin boarding craft from the First Tevarin War. With the recent discovery of the lost Tevarin planet in Kabal System, Esperia’s engineers were given unmitigated access to examine the preserved ships found in several of the caches, before meticulously recreating the design choices.  The Prowler’s effectiveness as a rapid personnel deployment vehicle was mainly due to its silence. The boarding was constructed using a variety of techniques to minimize its signatures and get close to unsuspecting vessels before quickly deploying their boarders via EVA.

With the updated Prowler model, you will find the perfect fusion of two culture: the elegance and effectiveness of the Tevarin war machine combined with the reliability of modern UEE technology. (While lacking some of the upgrades of the modern version, vintage Tevarin-built Prowlers restored for modern spaceflight are prized by owners lucky enough to locate them.)

It does indeed sound fun!   Especially the last bit!

I've really gone off the Vanguard, I just don't like the look of it.  Maybe that will change, but right now I'm non-plussed by its looks.

I completely agree. I was totally dumbfounded when I saw it, and was by far the easiest decision ship-wise that give had to make...that thing will NOT be going in my hangar.

Fugly, just fugly.

I wouldn't fly one but I quite like it's angular style........ but then I also think the Cutlass is the best looking ship in the game, so clearly my opinion is worthless :)

What there is in SC though is variety. Every ship looks unique, it's going to be a busy and interesting universe.

OK, I admit it...I think I like it now :(

Hated the greybox animation and thought it to be really, really ugly and overly complex.

Now I've seen the proper concept art and animation, I have to grudgingly admit to liking it more...bugger.

:roflmao:

and then...

I might be suffering the same delusions.  The new artwork does indeed make it look a ton better than the greybox.   Damn.  Blast. Bugger.
