Title: G-Sync vs. Freesync
Post by: TeaLeaf on April 10, 2015, 10:40:29 AM
RPS have a nice article about the two adaptive refresh technologies here:

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/04/09/g-sync-or-freesync-amd-nvidia/

It appears freesync has some work to do to catch up on the G-Sync performance.   nVidia card users rejoice, you're still in the lead for now!

I have the old non-gsync brother of this:

I've been using v-sync set to 60FPS in all my games for the last week and see no particular issue with it. I think whilst nice, G-Sync is way over priced right now.

I got a second PB278Q monitor for â,¬300 a few weeks ago. Compared to 600 quid new version that's a lot of money for better v-sync and 144Hz (which I must admit is desirable!).

Maybe in 3 years time if it's still around!

when i'm finally ready for 4k monitors i'm hoping the price will have dropped a little, but i'll be looking at g-sync 28" models.

This is already 400 quid Sneaky: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-071-AS&tool=3 and arguably rather awesome!

As an Asus Swift owner, this article made me warm and fuzzy inside when I read it this morning.
