A very detailed article setting out what you can do and not do in the forthcoming fps.

Well worth a read.

Just a few dozen more reasons as to why I'm going to absolutely suck at FPS...can I stay on the ship? It looks dangerous out there...

Good system when taking into consideration everything.  I definitely like the breathing, and no run and gun mechanics.

Brings in more slow, tactical combat instead of sprint, ADS, spray; unless we're using shotguns as in that scenario run and gun are still there with the inclusion of the 1 second delay.

Not sure about reduced FoV during ADS, as one can always keep both eyes open, no?  Plus, that diminished FoV is going to be an issue for motion sickness sufferers.

I get motion sickness in games and it sucks, but I usually manage well if there's no head-bobs and high FoV with 110 being a bare minimum.  Any less than that and I'm getting dizzy, turning pale, and having cold sweats, with my forehead going cold.

To be honest this is Arma 3 more or less, multiple stances, stamina effects and breath holding are all standard features of Arma. So it's really nice to see that while Star Citizen can create a lot of new and unique game features they aren't obsessed with re-inventing the wheel. The system works great in Arma and I'm hoping it will work great in SC. CR mentioned in his last 10 for the Chairman that he sees FPS in SC as more like a combat sim than BF4. There's no respawn in SC so fighting is going to be a much more considered and careful activity, which is nice to hear as I suck as run and gun FPS.

Oddly I get motion sickness when there is no head bob i.e. you run around like you're on ice skates. With head bob I'm fine

Both eyes open depends on the type of optics (if any) that are used. I'm excited for the different direction relative to stabbed FPS games.

I'll suck at it still. Arma guys will be good at it though ;)

I guess there's multiple triggers for different people.  Does small FoV affect you?  I stay around 60cm away from the monitor(24").

What do you do to counter it?  The button/pressure bracelets don't work on me (tried one of the nautical ones).  Some say eating ginger helps, I don't feel any difference though.
