Title: Build a Better Burger... er Trade Ship

I'm looking into investing in some kind of trade ship in order to speed up my money-making (first 'stretch goal' being the Vulture). I currently have about 2 million credits, and selling the Viper is not really an option I am looking at right now, so here are two fit-outs I can afford (and insure), and also leave me with some money to buy the first round of commodities:

So... is the extra 700k worth it to carry an extra 20T of cargo? Thoughts on the builds?

The type 6 wins hands down, as its a basic spec

Maxed out you will have
cobra: max cargo of 60 tons (no shields)
Type 6: 104 With shields

thats 44 tons worth, or more likely 64 tons.
Cobra can be handy if you want to do some fighting, but as a hard core hauler the type 6 wins hands down.

Like we said last night, strip the guns off it, and scanner get the best jump drive you can, and cargo holds.
Leave cash for insurance and commodities and go out there, and make a SERIOUS amount of cash.

I`m about to go look into the traders event, see if its worth while..

Entry-level Type-6 it is then... I will probably wait until the latter stages of this current community warzone event, in case I get a nice payout and can improve on the fit-out. Thanks all.

I would sell your previous ship and get the best next level up ship your can afford after insurance and trading funds.

So with 2 mill sell the viper and get a Type 6 and set it up all D class for lowest weight plus the longest jump drive you can get in there. If you have 1.5 mill left over you can get 100 *10K items like gold in there and still have some for insurance.

Every time someone levels up by keeping their old ship it adds weeks of effort to their levelling effort. If you need an interceptor for missions then grab a default Cobra and pimp it for jump distance and light combat. Then sell it once you're done as it might be preventing you from getting to the next level transporter.

That's my view, I only have 2 ships and 140million CR in the bank + the 2 ships are work over 250mill CR together.

Cobra all the way for me.

Grinding is not my thing and a fully pimped Cobra is great fun.
