Dead Men Walking

So with Beta 1.3 coming out soon and Power Play soon after, I thought it might be a good idea to poll you on which of the current major factions you feel dMw should support when the new update is out.

This is to help us all pull for the same side so here goes.

For the record, I voted Empire, reason, I like their ships better and the story behind the Empire is more interesting.

I'm usually the most fuzzy liberal in games but I have to admit, I admire the Empire's pragmatism. For a democracy, the Federation has a frightening number of mini civil wars in its systems.

I prefer the voice in the stations in the Empire :) Also slight more liked by the Empire!

Because ... the Empire's ships are cooler. God I'm shallow.

I'm waiting to see what the other options might be. However, if they're all a bunch of ne'er-do-wells then Empire it will be for me.

Well, for me its the Federation.  The Empires' adoption of slavery is a problem for me, plus ofc, the total lack of democracy.

Just a disclaimer for everyone. This is just a test of opinion. It in no way is a definitive choice for our community. In fact with other factions joining in the game then there may be more appropriate choices.

Plus you've never get a chance to try out the Imperial Ships if effort wasn't made to pickup and complete their missions. Hopefully the rewards for making a good choice will be higher in 1.3.

Ethically, the Alliance are sort of a bit more dMw esq I think, free thinking, loose but supportive group. I hope they get some useful rewards to aim for in following them soon.

I'm certainly Alliance. I disagree with the slavery in the Empire, and the serious corporations-in-charge attitude of the Federation. The Alliance have got some ethically dubious members too, but I stay away from them and try to stick to the democratic systems. I fought on the side of the rebels in the Lugh conflict, just to stick up for the folks trying to stick it to the Federation.

I do agree that the Alliance has basically no useful rewards at current though. I'm really hoping that changes soon. Even if they don't get a specific ship (wouldn't necessarily make sense with such a diverse set of allied worlds rather than a single core government) i'm hoping for bonuses to trades or custom paintjobs or whatever. I've actually done enough bounty hunting for the Alliance and taken down enough wanted criminals that even the Federation consider me allied (though I am still a Cadet, so couldn't get the dropship even if I had the cash), so maybe I should try and find some Alliance worlds near to empire space to do the same there.

I certainly enjoyed the challenge of gaining access to the Alliance worlds and rep with them than the other factions because it required more tactical thought, there was less availability of worlds to pick up missions etc. I also have 400K of Alliance Bounties to hand in so maybe Allied status is looming.

I spent ages repping up in Ethgreze to get access to the Alliance core world, but sadly there wasn't much worthwhile there when I got it :-/

Everyone knows we can change what power we are allied to yes?
Might come with a cost, but that's life.

So what ever the org chooses may not be set in stone.

Tell me about it, I got to the homeworld and found everything like 1500Ls from the Nav point and selling Biofuel.
