Title: GTA V Crew organisation
Post by: Galatoni on April 30, 2015, 09:19:34 PM
We all know that GTA is a fairly casual game. But does anyone have any thoughts on how they might want the structure to work?

We definitely need separate TS channels for heists/missions and general play, as we found the last night.

I think we should have some sort of structure within the community that matches the relevant roles of the crew within social club, and give permissions to those people that need it.

It might be worth having a sub forum for heists and another for us to post in for general missions

There is now a separate TS channel for Heists, i'm hoping that this will ease the problem a bit. We can always add more if its needed. I noticed this the other night, it can quickly get confusing.

Aye. The crew level ranks (based on your character level) can be set, however the crew structure tree (muscle, representative, etc) can't be - which sucks. While i'm hoping to promote anyone who is an admin up to the top level (PM if i've missed you) to help with disputes. As for the other roles and levels, i'm not really sure what levels people would consider. Jobs and Heists both seem to have a relatively small number of people, which would conform better to a squad mentality rather than anything rigid. What other roles to people consider to be valid?

It might be worth having a sub forum for heists and another for us to post in for general missions.

Don't think there's too much a crew admin can do once everything is setup anyway, Change logo, invite & kick.

Well, this is what each level of crew gets you (each higher level also has permissions from all lower levels, of course):

Muscle -

Representative -

Lieutenant -

Commissioner -

Crew Leader -

I'd hope we'd trust all known members of dMw to invite new members sensibly, so anyone on the forums should probably be a Representative. Then they would need to grab a Commissioner to promote anyone they invited to Representative if necessary. And Representatives can play around with new logos for the group should they so wish, and see what people think. Most of the other permissions are not things I see us really needing much of in this community. The only thing i'd say is - admins as Commissioners is good, but only if they play regularly. We're fine at the moment, as it's a new game so a lot of people are on it regularly, but we should make sure there is always at least 1 person at Commissioner level who is a regular player for as long as this is a game we want to play as a group :)
