Title: Visual and Audio Mods.
Post by: Nuka on May 06, 2015, 09:06:37 PM
Hey all,

I'm not totally sure on the standings on adding new Visual and Audio enhancement mods to the server, but I've recently been using a few that are absolutely incredible - DragonFyre and Blastcore Phoenix.

DragonFyre is the audio enhancer - made by the people behind JSRS (the one a few people use on the server) and Blastcore is a wonderful visual enhancer, making explosions and lighting look incredible!

Here are a few videos - you don't have to watch all of them all the way through - just showing you :)
DragonFyre and Blastcore together - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsRUZ8RGC5o
DragonFyre - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_PnU_533Zk
Blastcore (with JSRS 2) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzou_f_ymZk

DragonFyre - http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?187317-JSRS3-DragonFyre-RC-Release

Of course - this won't be everyone's cup of tea but I think I'd be cool - if it's not applicable on the server, at least I've shown it off. As with JSRS, the mods are completely optional and I don't think that it should cause conflict?

Thanks!

DragonFyre sounds pretty good. It just depends whether it is allowed by the higher ranks.

Nuka thanks for the post I will have a look and a read, we generally try to keep the server vanilla.  But if these are based in maps it might work.

Yeah. I'm sure that it can stay optional - much like JSRS. I don't believe it should cause conflict between conflict - I may be wrong however! I'd just kike to be able to use it on the server (Puff's shown interest too). I think it makes the game look incredible.

I've just tested Blastcore on a new map i'm creating and i do have to say it make it looks very cool, particularly at night.

It will need to be installed on our server in the same way OB installed JSRS2 back in November.  Testing on my LAN with the host running it i connected with another pc which didn't have it installed and didn't encounter any problems.

Now that the Mod selection screen has been added to the Arma start up i will definitely be keeping it.

I'd also like to get people's take on something like the Athena desktop allowing the use of a map on a secondary screen. Personally I don't see it as much different as having a drone above us and it's certainly feasibly as it is in modern warfare. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=28493

Over to those that decide on such matters
