Well, here it is.

Officially reserve your free Win10 upgrade from Win7/8.x from today, released 31st July.

Not too sure how it got there because I have Windows Update set to manual, so must have been something hidden in Mays Patch Tuesday bundle.

Do I dare click it.

Any idea if w8 OEM licences are being upgraded too?

I have been considering going legit, but the cost is unjustifiable in my eyes.

I do have an Ultimate vista key which has never been used but I missed the deadline to upgrade to W7 legit.  So yeah..

I clicked the link and it worked for me. My Windows 8 key was one of the ones Microsoft were offering for £16.00 as a pre release and it worked fine.

Not if you click the "Skip email confirmation" button.

**** Microsoft.

They default that app to Always Show Icon in your system tray which goes againt their published development policy.
They even went out of the way to try and hide the magic setting for it deep in the registry.

So, while it's unacceptable for a Windows developer to do this, apparently it's fine for Microsoft Mass Marketing Spam.

Once more, **** Microsoft.

Microsoft breaking their own design rules? I'm shocked.

Well, I've reserved. Whether or not I upgrade will probably depend on how many horror stories emerge in the weeks after release :g:

You don't get the icon if you're joined to a Domain as Enterprise users don't get free upgrades.
