Evenin' Awl,
After much deliberation and dialogue, taking into account comments and opinions of everyone who made them known, we, your friendly Game Admins have decided dMw will be aligned to the Alliance.
As such, my first command to you all as Game Leader is to make your way to the Gaultier de Varennes Orbital in BD+31 2373.
I recommend relocating your whole fleet there as we will after upgrading begin working together to work on the goals of Edmund Mahon.
This station sells Beryllium which can be sold at Borasetani (Katzenstein Terminal) and you can bring back Progenitor Cells for a healthy 2300cr profit.
BD+31 2373 is close to Alioth the Alliance homeworld, near Edmund Mahon's homeworld of Gateway and even not far(100LY) from Shinrarta Dezhra. The system has a nice little collection of stations for your touristique pleasure.
I have arrived and nabbed the top bunk nearest the door.
Good news is that i was here earlier today earning their confidence :P
So all i have to do now is drag the anaconda across and we`ll be happy...
I dragged the anaconda over, eventful flight, through a white dwarf, doing 5-6% damage to all systems...
But... i was carrying a full cargo of gold...
Vozard Arrived.
Welcome back Vozard! Not sure how long you'll stay as the team play may not be quite what we're hoping for but hey, good to see you'll give it a try.

It is just that I am afraid I'll wake up somewhere and be in war with everyone around me. So this is just the tail between my legs.
I started Elite for the first time in ages, launched my ship, and toppled sideways and trusted in to the walls of the station. Promptly got killed. :-) Lost a fortune.
Should have checked my controls....
Do we have to wear kilts and speak with an outrageous French accent?

Can someone please point me to (or start) a thread that explains how it will work? Is it combat only? I am looking for support roles of some kind.
Arrived last night, then went out for a quick sightseeing tour in the conflict zone and promptly died after accidentally launching a hatch breaker at a Farragut Battlecruiser.
Me and ZigZag arrived there late last night and i decided to drag some cargo with me.. through a sun.. fun times!
Anyhow having looked about on thrudd, there is not much on offer trade wise.. But, the good news is that its quite profitable!
The nearest decent hub is Disci- Snodgrass orbital, its a HIGH TECH station, and as such can supply most of what we need; it has a decent selection of ships and bits for them, and yes it sells the drop ship too. If you want a Clipper then tough!
Whats the deal, well its also the main trade point for a lot of the systems and as such it has a decent market for goods, although all we are interested in is gold and progenitor cells, have a look at the simple spread sheet https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxMxwl6KtsP3QTFLaFdsa0ttZlU/view?usp=sharing
In the mean time i`ll got a new trade route to abuse.. show me the money!

It took me 19 jumps to get to BD+31 2373 (I wonder if Frontier will introduce a renaming a system by popular vote option, BD+31 2373 isn't exactly catchy. I think we should call it Billy Dee Williams) but it was pretty profitable, I found 3 USS wreck sites with 12 Ancient artefacts and I can't remember how much gold. Netted me about 100k.
On a tangent, as mentioned, I got my teeth handed to me by a capital ship. First one I've seen in game - do you ever see them outside of Conflict Zones?
Borasetani is also rather nice and it is a system that is ripe for exploitation by us. No Power owns this sector right now and it has 10 ships and lots progenator cells for cheap.
The trade landscape is likely to change during the update period and I expect Thrudd will become rather out of date. We'll have to work out our own routes and most likely try and combine trading with Faction missions.
I think it may be an idea to play the game in Open Play and gauge if many other people are lingering around Gautier or the BD+31 system. I hope because it's a little obscure in name that it may be ignored by most other people.
I will be migrating the BattleStar Galactica and the rest of my rag-tag fleet from Zeta Trianguli Australis to BD+31 2373 tonight.
It's the old "Fly ship from Station A to Station B, buy Sidewinder upgrade it's FSD to 2A and jump back to Station A, repeat.."
Anaconda Zeta > BD+31
Sidewinder1 BD+31 > Zeta
*sell sidewinder1*
Python Zeta > BD+31
Sidewinder2 BD+31 > Zeta
*sell sidewinder2*
Asp Zeta > BD+31
Done!
Don't forget guys, do come on TS for help as well as banter. There are trade and wing channels if the sound of my voice makes you want to stick your ears in a blender, but your current struggles with the game (if you have any) may have a simple solution and the collective knowledge of the other dMw Elite players is a highly useful resource. If there's a place to trade, a combat zone to seek, a community goal worth chasing, or good place to buy the latest ship, the Elite TS channel is where you'll find out about it! Doesn't matter if you're in Solo, our Private Group or Open play, the same galaxy applies.
I think I'll be going off to do some Federation advancement so I can get a dropship if needed. Although I'll probably hold off and make the Python my next ship.

There's a Power Play thread and inside that there are lots of links and also a a link to a PDF with full instructions! Best let you read it through yourself so you get the full picture.

I've seen Capital Ships at Signal Sources "Called Capital Ship" and "Conflict Zone". I'd rather go with "LARRY WARD"

Borasetani, 22LY from the new home world sells Drop Ships for 19mill cr.
