Hi Folks,

The following vote is brought to you on behalf of the LAN GL's (that's BrotherTobious and myself)...

Over several of the last LAN's we've had a racing rig in the LAN room for everyone to use and take part in our Hot Lap competition and we want your feedback.

Putting the rig together and transporting it to the LAN is no small feat and it only happens through the generosity of others (*cough - FatBob - cough*) to make it happen. The effort is indeed worth it but only if you guys say so.

So vote!

Yes = Racing Rig
No = No Thanks
Other = I've got a better idea (post below)

I like the racing rig. I'm no racer and wouldn't ever get the chance to race with pedals, wheel etc. It's something everyone can have a crack at including the hotel staff. All in all a nice addition to the LAN, I'd be sorry to see it go.

However I can imagine that it's probably a fair bit of work for Fatbob to dismantle, transport and rebuild it. So if his bones are getting old and weary then I can understand if we retire it from the LAN.

How about putting up a racing signup post for each LAN? Then we can judge demand for the racing rig for each event.

Judging from the low response level overall and the low positive response level within those that did respond, I think we have our answer.   Clearly a small proportion of people enjoy it, but the numbers do not justify the hassle in my opinion (and I'm one of the ones who voted Yes!).

TL, I've never been a racer type of guy myself but setting it up and watching people play was great fun. People seemed to enjoy it. It was one of the LAN-games I didn't play but it seemed fun for those who did play.
Keep it up if FB is up for it.
