I thin k unlike previous versions of Windows this one has been out there as a preview for quite a while. I think most people expect it to work pretty well out of the box. I'm sure the'll be something that doesn't go quite right, it's always the way. Which is wht I'm going to hold on for a while before I jump over.

My desktop is a business machine that I need access to daily and is crucial for my work. So I need to be a bit careful about making big changes. I could wipe and reinstall everything if the Windows restore failed but it would knock me out for a day while I got my OS, applications and data all sorted. I'd rather leave it the more adventurous to install on 29th and see how they get on.

I've also got this thing about fresh installs rather than big upgrades. It's silly and a throwback to the days of Windows 98, ME, XP and Vista.

It is, but for those of us with older machines and a few years of install/uninstalls on them we tended to use it as a spring clean as well.

Hmm we may never hear from him again!
Always wait for the first service pack before installing a new version of Windows.

My nvidia problems seem to have just magically disappeared. I can only assume that windows has silently installed another automatic update.

Updated to W10 yesterday on my laptop, rolled back to W7 today.
Apps not working.  For instance MS Money (used for the past 12 years),  cure according to MS, is to download IE6 which of course wont work on a 64bit machine. Doh!
Desktop will stay on 7 thank you.

If you stop posting in this one you'll find that our forum will update to show you only using one thread! :P

Franko started this on in the CSGO section more recently and I moved it here as it is clearly not a CSGO issue.   So, stop posting and your problem disappears!
