Phew! Got there in the end. Well, almost.

Thanks to everybody who turned up. Greater thanks to all those who stayed and a big thankyou to TOXX for stepping in to cover a very lagged-out Tutonic.

The match results went like this:

1. SP vs BA

Knife fight won by SP who elected to play as CT. They went on to win the first half 10-2. The second half saw them achieve the three rounds needed for the match eventually running out 13-3 winners.

2. VOB vs Y-US

Knife fight won by Y-US who elected to play as T. They went on to win the first half 7-5. The second half saw them easily achieve the six rounds needed for the match with VOB failing to bother the scorer . Y-US eventually running out 13-5 winners.

3. VOB vs BA

Knife fight won by VOB who elected to play as T. They went on to win the first half 10-2. The second half saw them achieve the three rounds needed for the match eventually running out 13-3 winners.

4. SP vs Y-US

It was obvious that this was going to be a great match. Knife fight won by Y-US who elected to play as CT. They went on to win the first half 8-4. The second half was an extremely evenly matched affair that saw SP fritter away an early lead to watch Y-US level the score at 5-5 to give them an overall 13-9 win.

5. SP vs VOB

A disappointing match for VOB saw them lose the first half 11-1 and, with no miracle in sight, go on to lose 13-2.

6. BA vs Y-US

A very long afternoon was sweetly shortened when a submissive BA team (with it's membership in tatters) decided to concede the match to Y-US. Rumours of the WON servers being down was used as a convenient excuse and the judge had no hesitation in declaring the tournament closed (it had nothing to do with the fact that my dinner was baked to buggary either :P ).

So the final standings of this the inaugural dMw invitational tournament are:

1st Place  Y-US 9pts
2nd          SP    6pts
3rd          VOB  3pts
4th           BA    Nil points

Let the post mortems begin.

Forget to turn your bot on? :-)

I'm just happy as I was a flower in a field of sh*t.

BIG UP to V.O.B!!!! when we played them they showed us all the effectivness of DIVERSION when used right.  We didnt haev a clue where they were comming from... I was pretty disheartened to hear someone on our team say breaking up made us less effective... I reckon Oldie was at the center of that well oiled tactics machine? :-)

Oh on that note, I reckon the " Stryker's accolade of gameplay/tactics superiority award" goes to V.O.B.

In which case it should be noted that the most credit should go to Sadako who masterminded our diversionary offensive tactics. 8)

It was a team effort. I just suggested some crazy ideas and the rest of the guys thought them to be sound. Everyone doing their part is the strength of team play. Everything clicked in that game against B.A.

Against Frenzy, oh sorry, I mean SP then we were outnumbered, out of luck and out of skill.  :D

...thx to saddo for the map boundaries....no excuses now guys!

You are welcome.

I have made images of the map boundaries for all the maps in the rotation. I think TeaLeaf has put most of them in the PCS Rules forum. As they say a picture says more than thousand words.

I suggest that ppl read the text and look at the images to get a clear picture. Sometimes there are two levels on top of each other and that makes it hard to mark the boundary in an image (e.g. de_vertigo).

It just goes to show that you only need one leader if that person does lead and everyone else listens and follows!

Thanks Sadako - well played.

/me makes a mental note to bring a 6' long, extra-wide rubber condom to house Sheepy and his disease-ridden 'puta' at the LAN.  8O

IMPORTANT
As I said folks, follow Sheepy's example and take every effort to clean up you machine BEFORE the LAN.  Otherwise you'll have a hoard of nasties on your back who will kick 'n' degrees of unholy shit out of you if you mess up their system through your own carelessness!

I have spent most of my spare time today clearing up after Klez, Elkern and Bugbear. This is on my colleagues PCs. People who really should know better.

If you do not have the time nor money to purchase a decent AV prog then I will be bring one with me to the LAN. But ...

You do not hook up to the network until you are passed as clean.

If you suspect you may have been infected then run the Stinger NOW on your PC. This will detect and clean the 16 most common viruses.

Get it here: http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ (http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/)
