Scenario: server is full, 1 or more people on there are not DMW and not regulars.
Is it fair to ask an admin to kick with a message saying "sorry making room for a DMW regular"?
On a Monday certainly.
I'm loth to kick newcomers (unless disruptive) on other days as the server is a good way to grow the community.
I'd encourage anybody waiting to get on to join our TS channel so we know you are waiting.
We used to hop onto Meathook if Boomer was full, but we have the comp mod running atm. I'll see what people want to do regarding comp mod, and take it off if that's the consensus.
With my regular crashes, a couple of times recently I've found myself unable to get back on; I just click auto-join and fetch a drink/ have a smoke.
I have to agree with Blunt, during the week it's fair game for all. Get in there early Gunda :flirty:
In most cases it's regulars anyway, they might not be part of dMw (yet) but are around on a regular basis. And if there is a newcomer playing, I'd rather try and rope them in than scare them off.
Changing the config on MeatHook back to default should not be an issue, we should be able to turn on/off comp mode easily. I'll look into that tonight.
I agree that the server is an excellent place for growing the community and on most days it should be whoever turns up first gets a spot to encourage people to come back. On the other hand I think that being a member should grant you some privilege (at least on a Monday) because it does seem a little unfair that someone who might have donated towards keeping the server maintained or were part of the community were not given some sort of priority over a non-member.
I agree with Blunt and think a good compromise would be to say that on a Monday members get priority over non-members, meaning the non-member who joined most recently (you can check from the server browser) is kicked to open up a spot for a member (this would also encourage those who are regulars on the server but haven't signed up on the forum to do so), while on all other days of the week it is just whoever turns up first.
/Agree with Blunt. Don't drop new guys just straight away unless they don't do a thing. We had this before on the CS-servers that even long standing dMw-members just had to wait for their turn to play before another left. We have several servers to play on, just start a secondary game with people waiting/playing.
hmmm difficult this one after all BOOMER is the "PUBLIC" server.
we do have another at our disposal for Mondays tho.
