Title: dMw is now a faction in Elite: Dangerous
Post by: ArithonUK on October 21, 2015, 08:19:49 PM
I am pleased to announce that with the help of Albert and SneakyTiger we now have Dead Men Walking Alliance as a minor faction in Elite: Dangerous!

What does that mean?
Well, we have our own station Guest City at Zeta Trianguli Australis and it has Dead Men Walking Security and we issue missions from the bulletin board to allied and trusted commanders. Currently we are the CONTROLLING faction at Zeta and have 69% influence, but it is up to YOU to increase that.

How can we spread across the galaxy?
If we up our influence, we can spread to other systems and eventually become a Power.

Are we Feds or Empire?
No, while Zeta is in Federation space under the control of Felicia Winters, dMw Alliance is NOT Federation â€" we are independent and you can work for dMw even if you belong to a PowerPlay faction like Hudson or ALD.
For more information on factions and how to take control of the system, read “A Guide to Minor Factions and the Background Sim (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=193064)”.

So whether you play in SOLO or OPEN, you can do your part to increase Dead Men Walking's power in Zeta and make a mark in the galaxy!

First off well done that's incredible that you have made your mark in the game, I got a few questions for you tho.

Currently I am with the faction that's is Hudson and I am currently at the station xhie I think it's called which is nicely I'm his territory, so first off what do I need to do to help the cause ? I am guessing I am going to have to take a long trip to the plant/ system in which we have? Do I have to leave Hudson alliance to join/'help the cause or will I be fine with Hudson? I ask this because I need to know if I am going to be a target for everyone else if I join what I guess will be the small independent Alliance ?

I think it's great you been able to do this tho, well done. I know I ain't much I am only a starter pilot but am looking to help if I possibly can ?

To answer that question in it's various parts.

Firstly yes, you would need to travel to Zeta Trianguli to work for our minor faction. Xihe is about 51Ly from here, so you'd do it in a handful of jumps.

To help the cause you would need to trade with, fight on behalf of, or take missions for the Dead Men Walking Alliance. This would not damage your PowerPlay reputation since we are an Independent faction, and in opposing our enemies you may well be helping your PowerPlay faction by undermining our opponents hold on Zeta.

Until dMw is elevated to being a Power, you will only stand to damage your reputation with the Federation and/or Felica Winters Power later on by working for us.

Because the PowerPlay faction holding Zeta right now is Felica Winters - I am with ALD - you are classed as "Hostile" and may get interdicted by FW's agents now and again.

Killing FW's agents will give you PP merits because it is undermining, but it will make you Wanted, so only kill them outside Zeta or you may make your life difficult in our system.

Ah...haha a lot of info to take in at once, well doe. Fore knowing the name of the place I am at I am glad you know it haha

First off the alliance, would it be a idea to leave the alliance I am currently in or you think I should stay in it, I will only leave it when I start my long travel to then plant in which you lot own.i am worried slightly about being attacked but that's fine by me worse case it full power to engines and get the hell out of there, if I can't take on the target that is.

After so long can you take complete control of the planet and then stop the other factions being there in that system ? Or is that hopeful thinking on my behalf ?

Well done CMDR Arithon, it's a start of something amazing. It's the first mission in a long set of them complete. I might ask some advice of you since you clearly know what your doing and I ain't sure, is there a thread for that ? Or would you like me to leave you alone haha I don't mind if I am annoying you :)

If you are with a PowerPlay power, then seven eighths of the galaxy want to attack you anyway. You could defect to Felica Winters so you are aligned with the current "home power", but I haven't (I'm with Arissa Lagigny-Duval) and haven't had any issues.

Yes, if we get full control of the system, we "flip" it to ours and can also influence expansion into neighbouring systems.

Okay then, am just worried is all I have only died one sadly due to my best friend leading me to a trap and getting me destroyed, and I don't really want to die again for rp aspect of this game.

I like how we can take over the planet tho and then make others planets/ system join us. Think that's a great idea.

I see that Edmund Mahon has territory very close to Zeta and he is the champion of the Independent systems.

I could technically still propose to try and capture Zeta! Although if nobody is in that faction any longer is there any point?

So that's why Guest City no longer likes me.

Gotta do some missions to get back into the Station's good books. ;)

I assume it was one of the Independent Zeta TA minor factions that controlled the station before Frontier added dMW, probably find them listed in the station factions as a Friendly.

We have no particular favourite power play faction except that some of the guys are running up
Credits with the leader who you can make 50m with in a week if you earn 10000 bounty hunter points.

Originally dMw were Mahon loyal and I still am but I'll switch soon to join the others

What power play faction are you and your wingmen with Lanceor?

I think the controlling party was Progressive Party of Zeta Trianguli Australis. A year ago they had 93% influence, so whatever you guys did to budge them, I'm mighty impressed. :D

Right now, I'm not aligned with any particular power, but was thinking of maybe A Lavigny-Duval or Zachary Hudson simply because of their combat orientation (and bounty bonuses!) I'm planning a trip to Sag A* in the near future, so I might wait until after I return before pledging.

BTW, a few missions later, Dead Men Walking alliance are now "friendly". :)

So I got my Cobra to Guest City and I am trying to do something about our reputation but its a huge task. Would love some help with that so we could get DMW more known. I play open and rarely see any soul there so if anyone wants to help, give me a shout :) Arithon is my financial advisor, once bringing asp full of gold, when i run out of money for rebuy

I had simple mission yesterday which turned to be more complicated but great fun. Had to take out one target ship, called Racoon. Found him in the sector, interdicted, and he was in a python. He went after me with 2 other police friends. My cobra obviously couldnt handle it, so I took few shots and run away. Hull down to 40% and cockpit open, oxygen for 10 mins.

Got back to DMW base just in time and asked a friend in Fer de lance for help. He was quite far and has very small fuel tank so it took a while. Then he jumped into a system without sun and couldnt fuel scoop and run out of fuel :D So I bought fuel transferer (didnt know it was possible) and went looking for him and filled him up. Then we got together back to DMW system and finished Racoon :)

So DMW faction is now 1% up, help, anyone? :D

Nice persistence! I think the missions are proving to be a bigger challenge these days and I think they'll only become harder to complete encouraging team play.
