Something weird is going on with steam right now -

I purchased a game on Steam today with no obvious issues but this is worrying :g:
Fortunately nothing showing as wrong here, but then steam have unplugged the store for the time being until this issue is fixed.
It's been unreliable for a few days, maybe lunch time yesterday I noticed.
I noticed the store displaying things in Mexican Dollars earlier, and just assumed something had gone sideways with their DNS. Looks a tad more serious than that though.....
this is a locked thread on the steam forums: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/0/458604254431478327/ where they say its not hacked.
Also found this on a 3rd party site: https://steamdb.info/blog/recent-caching-issues-on-steam/
Steam have put out a official update on what happened on the 25th: http://store.steampowered.com/news/19852
The internet celebrity Totalbiscuit also put out a video a short while before the steam update came out (doubt that he had anything to do with it though).

One small consolation was that the DDOS attack threatened by SkidNP was a wash out. Ironically though their complaint that security on services like Steam, PSN and Xbox is not fit for purpose seems to have some validity.
