I deleted the post I was going to make as a reply :ranting2:
Can you guys make it clear to Rogue that ...
Asking forgiveness isn't a substitute for asking permission.
Not messing with other people's stuff is a rule - not a guideline.
The ends do not justify the means.
Experienced players should set an example to new and younger members.
Damn I'm angry
That's seriously uncool.
Whoever's going to respond can they please do ASAP and make it perfectly clear. He can be quite obtuse at times so it needs to be unequivocal.
Personally I'd ban him for a week but then I'm a b*****d.
I'm also going to delete SM's following post as it trivialises it somewhat (I'll pm him)/
Hummm, I have been scratching my head as to where my hide has gone over the last 2 weeks and was getting suspicious (not accusing anyone as I blame my memory before anything else), hadn't noticed any eggs gone from my fridge though and if he had asked first I would have been happy to do so.

I am with you mate sorry to butt in but I had to show that this kind of stuff would not be tolarated in MC and it is very much like that. Also I would start to put special stuff in locked boxes.
Shame it come to this.
Sorry again to butt in Ice
I've made a response. I'm of the mindset that this kind of thing should be punished. But how, I don't know. Its really uncool. I was talking to Sith the other day regarding large quantities of metal that seemed to be missing from the crater, this might be a reason why. It seems that delayed gratification is beyond the ken of some people. I've not made my real feelings about this known in my reply to that post, but I think i'd certainly push for something to happen. And Snokio should somehow be compensated for this. Perhaps a one time and supervised spawn of resources would repair Snokios damage? Still doesn't deal with Rogue though.
Totally out of order!
Regarding metal at the crater, are you sure it's not in the forge? I was up there a few days ago and took 200 but in return mined a new 200 metal (and sparkpowde)r and set put it in the forge to cook....
Anyway just a thought.

Ha. 200 metal = 100 ingots. :) That would explain some of it. Honest mistake though.
But the amounts i'm talking about are in the region of 500-1000. It doesn't matter though. Its unlikely that the culprit would be found, and it happened a few weeks ago now. For me (now) its a none issue.
I really don't want this to start splintering stuff :(
A few weeks ago I did a crater run with Snokio. We mined metal and used the two forges to convert to ingots. The ingots/metal that were in the forges originally were placed in the large locker to the right.
Could that explain the missing metal?

No offence to you, sir. That may very well explain it, but its not the big issue. I'm basically written off that stuff, its certainly pale in comparison to all these eggs to be honest. Thanks for your concern though. *tips hat*
Ahh okski my bad. I'm going to do another run at some stage so will double up. Actually it's so painless getting metal from there it's not exactly a hassle.
Back to Rogue.... Considerate game-play is so ingrained is us old hands that when someone doesn't then it really irks us. I know we may have a short tolerance on such things but it's one which has been honed over the last 20 years of our community.
We'll see what Grim has to say and then what/if action is to be taken.
Out of interest, is it possible to set codes on storage boxes? I'm only thinking of saddles and oil / chitin / pearls collection as you know can be a good few days/nights work.

Not currently I don't think. The pin codes only work for non-tribe members. Apparently admins can lock their doors someone mentioned.
Hey guys, just catching up with whats gone on here, and I think the best I can weigh in here with is that there are some rudimentary controls available that can limit this sort of stuff, and might be a better punishment than necessarily banning Rogue,
I've got to transfer ownership of the southern beards to Icehawk anyway, but I think what he could do as the owner/I could do as the owner is set the ownership of dino tames and structures so that they are infact personally owned now, instead of tribe owned, that should be able to actually properly use the pincode feature available on boxes doors etc according to this wiki if you all don't mind taking a look:

I don't like the idea of banning someone so early, it can leave a nasty taste in the mouth and I love seeing so many people flock to the same game and enjoying themselves, I'd rather use this as an opportunity to enforce the right rules going forward bros...
My opinion is that a small amount of give should be applied simply because he held his hands up before anyone complained (assuming this wasn't mentioned on Teamspeak). I'd suggest a weekend ban.
I appreciate what Sith is saying but banning a fairly new member for a weekend (perhaps not a week) isn't going to dent our core players, most of whom are pretty old school and core dMw.
Even if he planned to replace those eggs, Snokio may have gone out, farmed some prime meat and come back to create kibble, only to find his eggs missing. The consequences of taking something without asking can have a bigger impact than you first might think.
The problem now is that you will find yourself counting your fingers and toes when you log back into the game to make sure they are all there. You don;t want to have to, but you will find yourself doing it. What you will once have put down to a wandering mind will become a pointing finger, even though it's almost always the former.
It's a break of trust and the nasty taste is already in the mouth along with a feeling of disappointment.
The game is supposed to be hard and an initial hand up is required in the beginning sometimes, but too much help also detracts from the underlying game itself and doesn't show the hard work in making assets that have been secured by the long time players.
It's one of the reasons I like being out on my own, but i also like the idea of getting together to help the others tame big animals that I don;t actually need use of yet.
Pen spent a long time playing with one of the members to get him some dinos to start with, only to see them get wasted for no reason with a "oh oh" and a giggle, I was on comms at the time and felt the same despondency as I heard in Pens voice a few moments later.
A closed door is to be treated as a locked door unless you have been lent the key.
The contents of a chest are private property.
Permission must be sought.
A mature attitude is required and age is not a sign of matureness.
At the very least, that Oviraptor should be destroyed, it's a misappropriated and very expensive animal to tame. There should be no profiting from it.
We had a little chat about it.
He is going to kill that raptor by his own hands.
This will happen when he is online together with 1 of the admins.
For the rest there has been a chat about how to go on etc. The above thing is an example and hope he and everyone learn something from this.
There are a few things going to be released for this game that will need some testing and thinking about if it is something for our server to implement it etc.
Plus a post is being posted by Sith for some sort of personal protection of your and tribe stuff.

Aye. I'm with you here. The ownership changes that are being released should help with the paranoia, but still... the damage is done.
