Poll
Question:
what do you think should be voted britains best sitcom?
Option 1:
votes: 1
you're probably all getting a little bored with all these polls but it would be interesting to see what you all think should win. ive got the bbc top 10 though i think red dwarf, father ted, alan partridge and the office should be in there, feel free to post any you think have been unfairly left out :)
edit: apparantly ive voted for vicar of dibley and i cant change it... TANGO
Not the nine o'clock news :P
Sincei dont have that many of thoose shows here, i go for either black adder og faulty towers...
Finger trouble with the mouse means that Blackadder has missed out on a vote.
If anyone votes for Dads Army, The Vicar Of Dibley, or The Good Life they should be rounded up and shot :) They don't even qualify as sitcoms - mainly because there was no element of comedy contained therein.
I agree with Sadako - Yes Minister (and to a lesser extent, Yes Prime Minister) was a classy show.
Blackadder (except series 1 which was poor) is by far and away the best British Sitcom ever. If you can, order the box set from the States (don't get the British one as it doesn't have any of the specials, of which there were 3)
Although it certainly ain't classic I always enjoyed Coupling - Mainly cause of the blond chick in it ;) You could also argue that the League of Gentleman was a sitcom (being all based in 1 village), but maybe it's more of a sketch show. Not sure.
Father Ted, Porridge and Red Dwarf were great, but Only Fools and Horses just looks really dated now :( The Day Today was also fantastic, and Auf Wiedersen Pet (but only the 80's version, not the new ones). The best Alan Patridge was when he was the chat show host or in the travel hotel - didn't like the new ones as much.
