Title: New Spring - Robert Jordan
Post by: smite on January 18, 2004, 11:56:09 AM
The New spring is a Wheel of Time novel before the discovery of the Dragon Reborn when Morraine becomes Aes-Sedai and Lan Mandragoran (King) ends up her Warder.
Nice small book just to tide over until book Eleven.

Sorry guys i know it's a book but Oldie, Gandy and a few others may be interested.

Got told off for reading it in a couple of days (new book case needed) ..It is'nt that big.

Finally finished the 10th book of the Wheel of Time and I admit defeat.

This book would have just about been acceptable if it ended the story. But no, Jordan managed to yet again spin out a thin tale with rediculous multi-page descriptive narrative of irrelevant people and places. I no longer care what happens to the characters. Jordan has killed them off long before the story did. Shame because the series started very well.

Oh well. Now reading the Belgariad. Much, much better. :)

Excellent choice sir! Once you finish it you can start reading the mallorean by the same author(s) David (& Lee) Eddings

Have to agree with BB here, both are an excellent series of books.  I also enjoyed The Elenium by the same author.

Oldie book 11 is due out in October ...Good luck with it :D

I have read the series twice now and once you know how boring book 10 is the second time around it makes much more sense and is quite enjoyable.

Also number 12 will be the last.

I have also read all of David Eddings books which are good but a little bit samey....... but not as bad as Terry Brooks, christ he needs to come up with some new ideas.
