The best way to practice for an AWM is to use a Scout!  If you need to use the AWM then it can be arranged at pre-match practice sessions.

I beg to differ, the scout is a hugely different weapon and isn't used anywhere near the same way the scout.

The best way to practice i find is to join one of the many awp_ map server's out there.  The awp is very much a stationary weapon and misses with easy of your moving even the slightest, while a scout is still hugely accurate while moving.  Surely this should effect the way you use each weapon?  It does for me.

Gamtiger (http://www.gametiger.com/search?sType=map&map=awp_&submitButton=Map%20Search&count=50&game=cstrike) is great for this.   :)

I agree firing with the scout feels lighter and quicker while the awp is feels heavier and fires much slower. So i dont get to practice much with the awp just the scout.

Yes I have to agree I think these need looking at too as they are now as acurate and almost as deadly as the awm and are starting to appear with depressing regularity on the servers, somewhat spoiling the game play I feel.

I dont think so - they r expensive and a bit "clunky" feeling.  If you wanna buy one then do so.  It shouldn't be regulated like an awp in my opinion.  AWP is a one shot kill, sniper rifle isnt there yet.

The t's auto sniper rifle is v deadly now and when you are getting shot it tends to freez you a lot and is a lot easier to get kills with now but it isnt as powerful as the awm/scout.

It still needs 3-4 shots on target to do the job.

Last night on aztec it was really awful. It was 8 CTs vs 5 Ts and 4of the CTs had that rifle. Made it extremely hard to do anything as T when they started to fire away. It is a 'good' spam weapon aswell as it does lots of damage.

Ive played on many public servers and have found many ways they tackle problems with multiple sniper guns cant we make a max amount that a team is allowed of a certain weapon ie no more than 2 awms per team etc. And when you try to pick it up if too many people on your team have it, it says so and that way makes the game more balanced. Also with that in mind coulndt you automaticly make it so if your team becomes 4 or more behind in score the awm is available and at all other times not available so that new people come on the server who hardly ever read the rules find that there are restricions.

On CIGS there use to be a function that there was only a few AWM's allowed in a team. It was really handy. Sometimes almost all are using it nowadays on public servers.

I'm not entirely certain what an auto-sniper is. Is that T's Krieg and the Aug or the D3/AU1 (or whatever it's called.)

If somebody has a list of what the weapons are commonly called, could they post it here?

They could be shooting back too, and that makes it even harder...
(we need a decision on this, can it be used freely like the scout or restricted in some way?)

At present, they can be used freely but the admins will monitor the situation and act if necessary.
