Following a lot of discussion followed by lever pulling and button pressing by Oldie and Whitey, it has been decided to migrate over to The Center map one week from today - Tuesday 21st June.
To celebrate The Island, we're running two potential extinction level events on this Thursday and Friday.
Thursday 16th June - The Broodmother will be summoned. I'm under no illusion that we will all die several times then be forced to leave the beast wandering the world.
Friday 17th June - The Dragon will be summoned. (ditto)
We decided to go for two consecutive nights to give those people unable to join one or other event an opportunity to fight a boss.
Kick off (literally) at 8.00pm but be on the server and ready by 7.30pm to give you time to bring your dinos. Location is TBA but will be somewhere relatively equidistant for everyone and no, we ain't summoning it anywhere near my base :rolleyes:.
When we migrate to The Center we plan to turn the existing map (or what's left of it after the summonings) off. Hopefully this will put everything in stasis and we can reactivate it as and when.
Sounds great. Will try to make it to those events if work allows :)
Can I borrow a dino? Mine all starved to death I think. I'm a bad mother.

haha i went on there yesterday and my base was empty apart from one dino and thats your bird jewelz your pink one haha

For a few months now the Brood Mother has not been an open world spawn event.
All bosses are now in their own arena's and have been severely buffed to make the massive events. Apparently you have to have your dino's on the summoning deck of the monolith and only certain size dino's will travel.
You have 15 minutes to kill the brood mother or you will all die, all your dino's will die and you will lose anything you have taken into the arena.

The full squadron of lvl90+ dimos all with around 250dmg went in the blink of an eye, prior to that they had been happily eating bronto's, spino's and T-rex's in about 2 seconds flat.
Angry monkey took down the Enola Gay with S.A.B's (surface to air, boulders), which I didn't notice because I was stood on the platform and didn't see it taking damage.
My Dimos and Dilos also pegged it. I was standing on my Rex firing arrows on annoyance at the BM when all of a sudden it just charged in and I fell off and got squished between it and another t-rex. I couldn't move and then died.
When I re-spawned I managed to run in and grabbed Oldies pack (first one I got to), punched a few spiderlings to death:boxing:, found my pack and picked that up and then couldn't move :blink:. Punched a few more spiderlings to death :boxing:, got torpored and then it was curtains. Then I had a problem. Whenever I found the pack and picked it up I was overloaded :doh: and didn't have enough time to drop some stuff before getting over-run by spiderlings. :ranting2:
Maybe we need to rethink our tactics?

Perhaps summon and insta-tame a Giga then at least you'll be able to see one in action?

We didn't have time for screen shots. We were too busy dying.
If any off my dinos are still alive feel free to use them. I might have some guns and bullets also for you guys. Just let me know. I'm out tonight but can unlock everything if you need some bits and bobs and ammo and guns.

...only one problem is that through a glitch or "intervention" a giga spawned at SOS base...destroyed most of oldies house, but I saved his bird. it then escaped and we (oldie, lib and I) went on the safari to kill it and got attacked by at least 30 mossies. oldie and lib died i managed to kill what was left and ran back to base...right past the giga who was stuck on a rock...anyhow fun times
Apologies I've not been on. Sounds like you've had a blast. Real life has been in the way. With any luck I should be around on Tuesday night for the launch of the new map though :) I can't wait to see the pics.
Tonight sees the final 'Final Event' which will be a cave run into the latest cave added to the game - the one in the snow area.
