Yes I was until discovered I was living in some strange alternate universe where Great Britain were great at sport. :)  Seriously though 19 Golds!  Well done us

Then again the cynic in me thinks this is probably due to our new and very unsportsmanlike "Win at any cost (https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/aug/15/brutal-but-effective-why-team-gb-is-winning-so-many-olympic-medals)" policy of completely cutting funding to any sport where we little or no chance of a medal and funneling it into sports where we do. Seems it's no longer about competing  just about hoarding as many medals as we can.

Well actually I'm just delighted that for once (and at 2012) we get to see tangible results from money being spent.

Oh Smilo.... look on the bright side. The team GB doping programme is working properly and now that everyone has exposed the Russians, they're down where they belong. :D

Seriously tho, team GB are doing the country proud!

That's because the system now invests some money into sport, which for years it did not.     I think the national 'feel good' value we get from the spend is huge and it is fabulous to see their success.

Now stop interrupting my Olympic viewing, I'm off to catch-up tv to see what I missed......
