Just a quick thought from me. I have recently started playing a LOT more Mercy, and find her to be a phenomenal character and a real asset to the team. Her heals out-pace all others, and her revive can single-handedly change the flow of a game, stopping or securing a loss or win respectively. I'm starting to see her as almost essential in most team set-ups.
I have noticed something some of the 'better' teams out there seem to do, and have started trying to copy it / steal it for ourselves. Basically at the start of the game, the tank(s) are the first ones out, and LET themselves take damage. Mercy heals this damage, boosting her Revive. Doing this you can boost a revive within minutes with the right tank (Rein is great for this - take damage, block when low, heal up, and repeat).
I know this Ultimate charging may be obvious for some, but I thought I'd post it anyway so that we are all aware, and try to fit it into our Comp games a bit more often. Thinking about how to boost your ults, and how NOT to boost the enemies, is an important part of the game. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
Oh, and ALWAYS show love to the healer. <3

Since Ana came out, early ultimate boosting became pretty common (particularly the Ana and Reinhardt combo) but I think the mercy revive is a little underrated. The amount of times you nearly wipe a team and then they all come back is annoying!
Unfortunately, having an early Lucio ultimate isn't quite so useful imo so doesn't really get a look in.
Agreed lucio has taken a bit of a back seat in most situations. It's only maps where you're forced into close quarters with the enemy (ilios, lijang tower etc) where he is a bit sturdier and thus more useful.
I mainly play Mercy and I agree with all the points here.
Lucio's ult is just not as big bang showy as the others but for me it wins fights, it can counter or reduce the effect of many of the more offensive ults... reaper, genji, zarya, McCree (makes it slower for him to get a kill shot), roadhog, junkrat, phara, etc..
Yup totally agree with this.... plus on capture the point maps having lucios speed boost for the 2nd point can literally win you the game by getting there before defence can establish themselves.

The speed boost is nice, but I don't see it as essential. I can't think of a single time I've used, or seen it used by another, to rush to the next point AND THEN WIN because either we're too low numbers to push or we killed the opponents one at a time and they were already in place. This is a one time thing and I view as worse than Sym's teleport. Plus, he's just not as offensive as Mercy - her pop pistol can be used to get quite a few kills of substance as Lucios gun just tickles.
What Lucio does bring to the table is his push, which can win maps where you can be pushed off. But other heros can do this as well - D.Va (jet boost pushes), Rein (hammer pushes, and charge), Roadhog (pulls and ult pushes).
He can also be very hard to kill if the player knows how to wall ride and the map allows it.
By letting the enemy shoot your tank you're also boosting their ults. Ana's HPS is also higher than Mercy's providing she hits every shot.
The only problem I have with Anna is that she has the highest skill requirement of all the healers .... I find her far too hard to play for me.
As a support 'main' I try to keep an eye on these things. I found until the recent changes, I climbed SR when playing Ana, and lost it when I got bored and switched to someone else! Not sure how she will fit in the new 'meta', although I think she will still be viable... perhaps I can go back to a bit more Zen (by far my fave).
Edit - I also happen to totally disagree with what they're saying about Mercy. Depends how good the enemy team are at focusing the supports.. but I think I can still get huge value from her.
