Loved it :D
From this review (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/on-demand/2016/11/18/the-grand-tour-episode-one-tweaked-bbc-noses-and-other-five-talk/) ...
QuoteThe series certainly announced itself in spectacular fashion, with a Mad Max-style opening sequence in which the swashbuckling hosts zoomed across the desert in tricked-out Ford Mustangs, accompanied by a procession of cars / bikes / swooshing fighter jets. Behold the Cecil B DeMille / Auto Trader crossover you hadn’t realised you needed in your life.
QuoteWe weren't yet five minutes in and already Top Gear had been thoroughly trumped. Somewhere out there you could almost hear Chris Evans locking his bedroom door from the inside and sobbing.
Yeah enjoyed the first episode, definitely delivered and was exactly what I hoped it would be. Those 3 could keep me entertained forever
:withstupid:
Great laughs, can't wait for the show to get to the grand journeys, they were always the best bits of top gear IMO.
Although I loved the first episode having an M2 on it. Coupled with the P1 and those other 2 monstrosities, made for some seriously nice car porn. Looking forward to friday :D
This was a great show and loved every moment of it. They awoke together so well and personally no one does car shows better then these three. All the banter they have while showing us some car porn is all a great mix and I am so glad to see them back on the tv again.
Like chaos said I can't want for there road trips they were the best episodes and the ones that are in this series look to be very Intresting and I can't wait

Well I knew they were close :flirty:
I didn't watch the new series on Auntie Beeb beyond the first episode, it felt flat from the off.
I primarily watch it for them, the car stuff doesn't interest me as much and is more of a "vehicle" for their banter.
But I took advantage of the £20 discount on a years Prime for the week up to the launch and enjoyed the first episode, straight in with the May bashing and in the opening credits pretty much saying they walked out of the BBC straight into the series with Amazon.
With Jeremy Renner dropping in as their first guest as well. :lmfao:

Haha sorry I was shopping when I wrote this but was in a rush .... it made for a interesting show tho :D
Yes, me the the wife really enjoyed it.
There is no way the BBC could have made that -the language, the content and very obviously the much bigger budget.
The only negative is that they replaced The Stig, but as it's not Top Gear I guess they kind of had to.
And his almost like for like replacement, The American is poor - you see his face, he speaks and he's just Not Funny.
Just watched it........ wow. I could watch the opening sequence time and time again. It was a stunning piece of filmography.
i loved it, especially the slo mo bits in 4k. Hopefully this will open the floodgates for 4k tv items on prime.
Looks like I'm the only one who wasn't as impressed as they expected to be.
The 'banter' and 'jokes' were so scripted they may as well have been holding the scripts up and reading direct. That was really disappointing for me.
The car review parts were the same as the last series of Top Gear. Well filmed and interesting. I'll keep watching to see how it all gets on but I hope the banter becomes and little more ad lib and less read from sheet.
You have a very good point Mugi, but I am hoping it is all because of the first episode... play it safe, then build on it from there.
So the second episode then.........
.............
.............
Well it can only get better... right?
A bit repetitive that film, and I'm among those that enjoy a bit of gunplay in my entertainment.
'New' format, it'll need a bit of time to set. Conversation Street is a bit forced, and the dead celeb gag was getting old before they finished the very first segment.
Still, it's a better Top Gear than Top Gear currently is, so I'm mildly hopeful.
Both that the trio will regain their stride (and drop The American), and that BBC+LeBlanc-Evans=GoodTimes can be a balanced equation.

Given he did actually blow his house up in September I guess that'll be fed into the series at some stage
