Someones getting bored telling people what to do
Good guide btw
Albert can you include links to the current relic site maps? I am always looking through my history for those.

This is useful.
Thanks for Lib for getting me started in this game and for his help when I kinda ran out of fuel.
Sulks I get your point but suspect it's more a case of people having to be told repeatedly what to do as opposed to one offs.
Part of being in a gaming COMMUNITY is that we help each other. Those helping others in one game may well be the ones asking for help in another. That's the way it works. I can understand having to repeat instructions several times could prove.... ummm frustrating. I know as I've had to do that in Ark but I've never baulked at helping someone start, tame or build.

Actually not, just it's hard to keep track of all these sources and they have changed since the early days so this should help keep us all current.

Exactly right Pen, we are a community and help each other. Sorry I couldn't stick around the other night to help you settle in, if I play after 9/9.30pm UK time I'm not gonna sleep well for work in EU time the next day. Plus Lib was in super enthusiastic mode and we were just talking over each other trying to help so it made sense for one of us to duck out, no offence meant.

Sulks is just living up to his namesake :woot2:
Thanks for the updates. Elite is currently my game of choice when I'm going to or from night shifts (adjusting my sleep pattern - or trying to). It's a great game for this as it can be so chilled and relaxing. I have recently just been exploring random systems performing surface scans and so on. These links are full of helpful info.. particularly trading is something I need to look more into as I still find myself struggling to make good cash.
Important point for those toying with Engineering (Oldie).

If you roll an upgrade that you like the look of, apply it because you can basically keep rolling and from that point the engineering panel roll window (the one that has the sliders on it) will show your the +ve or -ve in comparison with the upgrade you have ALREADY applied, and not the default. Whereby letting you easily decide if your new roll is better than the old.
The little window at the bottom right is the defaults, but not the outcome of your new roll.
When you apply one upgrade over another, the original is removed completely including any experimental parts on weapons.
So apply the best one you get and just keep over writing it with better rolls until you're happy! No need to remove it before overwriting.
Hope this makes sense, it took me ages to get my head around what was happening.
Ok so this just got me excited: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqBg6xQDuYY&t=108s

that does look awesome albert, you can watch all them ....videos... yes videos in space now :rumpy::flasher:
I just tried it, worked exactly as it stated, I was watching a concert on YouTube in the top left of my windscreen
Next they'll have mobile phones and then there'll be all the crashes. Don't come moaning when you toast your ship because you were engrossed in a video.

I would be lying if I said that hadn't happened already. 19mill insurance and 10mill cargo hitting a planet surface whilst watching a video. :p

Trying desperately not to laugh!!!!!
Oh dear Albert I am sorry for your misfortune..... not!!
Some new interesting content:
Special Ship Builds:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QCWTDpFChk - How to enhance your ship to get away from the most potent attacker, also some rather unknown features of your ship you might not have known!
Wing tactics:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIsTAGXczLw - How to really play as a wing, or 3 wings. How far off this are we? Miles!
Tip: Mining, when you use prospector limpets to discover asteroid content, the resource yield is 3-4 x higher. I got 6 Painite out of 1 rock! 240K profit.
So was getting p!ssed off with not seeing Sn00ks in the wing last night and did some digging. Seems it's that old uPnP issue cropping up again. Even with uPnP enabled some users experience visibility issues in Elite.
https://support.frontier.co.uk/kb/faq.php?id=33
I suggest everyone port forward UDP 5100 to the PC they play Elite on. Or if you have a good status view on your router for the result of uPnP check that UDP 5100 has automatically been added to the forwarding list.
I recommend every Elite player check this.
Maybe one point making your wing play erratic last night OB.
There is a file that needs to be added to the default Elite folder to over write the game default that forced on upnp.
Create a text file and call it AppConfigLocal.xml and paste the following lines into it.
Save it into this directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\elite-dangerous-64
Then add a port forwarder on your router to UDP 5100 to your PC. Of course you can choose any port number tht isn't in use on your system.

Sorry. I should have mentioned that I had read that article so had already created that file when I forwarded the port.
I've since stripped it all out as the problems I'm having leaving supercruise only started after I did the port-forwarding stuff.
Added a few links about compromised Nav beacons. Death in an instance! Major XP rewards.
New addition: Need to drop some materials or data and are confused which ones are worthless:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/259029-So-you-ve-run-out-of-inventory-space
This should help.
Quick money comes back to Quince!
Get a passenger module, get 5 more, go to Quince and if you are already allied with many of the local factions, take the mill CR at a time missions to the local ground base.
