Post by: Penfold on February 23, 2017, 09:06:09 AM
Ok so I've been mean to buy track ir but was tossing up between them.

I've been told to spunk the money and buy Track IR 5 so done.

Anyone got a good place to buy one from?

Thanks

Wow, they've gone up in price

http://rcsimulations.co.uk/Track-IR is about the cheapest I could find it. They only list 2 dealers on their site officially, and these guys have money off right now.

Just to throw another one into the frame, this looks pretty damn good.

EDTracker (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qRJPSOCGeo)

It uses gyros for 2-axis tracking, weighs nothing and won't be affected by sunlight. It doesn't have all the positional axis that TrackIR and IR clones have, but those are only really used in FPS for looking around corners.

Available here pre-built for £45 (http://www.edtracker.co.uk/).

Interesting find - for the sake of Science, I've purchased one of them to get it a try. Plus at £45, it's not the end of the world if it turns out to be duff. If anyone is interested, I'll post some thoughts on it once I have it set up.

Aye me too.

I don't really want a camera and random protuberations on my hardware if I can avoid it.
