looks like destiny 2 will be using blizzards battle net.
anyone else looking forward to this fps?
Watched the trailer and the cinematic bits of the game presentation. Looks interesting.
I'm looking forward to it!
Welcome to dMw Scaglione!
It's safe to say I ordered a copy, I played destiny one on the PS4 absolutely lived the game it's a grind to keep up with the latest armour and weapons also theraids where fantastic as well as the story
I'm waiting till after launch and your verdicts before I commit dudes O_O
I am waiting for open beta some time in late August, that should be enough to get an idea.
I played a lot of the first one on the PS4 also, but after playing the beta of Destiny 2 on PS4 recently i'm going to see whats it runs like on PC. I got bored of the first one and the second one is more or less the exact same game and i was hooping for more.
anyone created a clan in the beta yet?
Quote from: Sneakytiger;426115anyone created a clan in the beta yet?
Unable to make clans yet. It's also the last day of the beta, so a bit pointless :)
what are opinions after the beta?
I runs like a different game on the PC compared to the console. I'm going to see what the content is like in the console release to see whats available for play before the PC release.
My pre-order is still there :)
I think I will go for it, just waiting for console reviews. Have you played Destiny 1 Jewels?
I emplore anyone considering a purchase to watch this very detailed review, it highlights all the stuff I was worried about, and is enough reason to keep me from purchasing just for the sake of...
Some bad language ;

To counter this, you should also watch Jim sterling's review http://www.thejimquisition.com/destiny-2-review-blinded-by-the-light/
I'm no fan boy or anything as I don't own a console and never played the first, but Joe's review is seen as pretty flawed by many and Jim is the first person I would expect to **** on this game if it was bad.
I think for anyone who didn't pay the first and is up for shooting and looting, you'll probably have a ball.
BTW not pre-ordered yet but probably will closer to launch once the dust has settled and there is more info out there.
Thanks for info Nootrishus. Why is Joe's review seen as flawed?
Yo, the thread on Reddit discussing it is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/70k83t/destiny_2_angry_review/ and imo the best discussion is in this section: https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/70k83t/destiny_2_angry_review/dn3v1ia/
The flawnedness (werd) is his attitude towards the game going in and how he approached the review. It's kind of crazy saying that the game is an improvement over the previous release and then give it the same score, then saying it would be even worse if not for Nathan Fillion, who apparently saved the game.
I've never really been a fan of Joe's reviews, but just watching the end part where he gives his final verdict... It's over dramatic, contrived and feels like he wanted to give it a bad score just so he could give it a bad score. "Battlefield and Call of Duty seemingly injecting more innovation into their sequels" Give me a break...
I am playing this on my xboxone and I'm loving it. I'm a diablo fan, so I <3 the grind.
Destiny 2 has a lot more story build in than the previous version, where you had to read comics to keep up with the ingame story. So for me, it's a great improvement - but I can see why people would criticise it as it's virtually no different in terms of look and feel and they've recycled a lot of the old adversaries.
From what I've read/seen. This is Destiny 1 one small improvements. Fantastic - I loved Destiny 1, the only thing that let it down for me was that it was solely available on Playstation where I only have the 2 friends. As with most games, this will be better the more people that play it. Would be cool to get at least six on these to get a raid team together! Watched a play through of the first D2 raid, looks pretty intense!
this is probably one of the best reviews I have found so far

Great review. Doesn't put me off wanting to buy the game, especially since a lot of the criticisms seem to be between the changes between the first (never played it) and the new game.
If you don't want to watch the whole thing, here are some bullet points found in the Reddit thread discussing the review (most people agree with his points and say it's a great review) I've added some missing points in:
- his first point is that most reviews of D2 are by people who only played Vanilla Destiny, and that at lot of the things that D2 is being praised for (better gear progression system, story, characters) were first introduced to the franchise in Taken King
- D2 continues to have top notch, industry-defining gunplay.
- his review doesn't cover story or open world a aspects, as those are things we should expect to be good in any AAA game. But he does like them both.
- D2 removed some things for endgame grind players to chase after.
- D2 didn't offer any innovations in PVE endgame (still just as raid and Nightfall)
- The Destiny world "shrank" with D2 because it removed all of the old areas (compared to what games like WoW do)
- PvP is a lot slower and more tactical, which has made it more serious and taken some of the fun out of it. Most people are using scouts (pretty much sniper rifles) and teams roam together as time to kill has gone up in D2.
- You can't pick which game modes you wish to play in PvP and people are finding some of modes pretty tedious.
- Raid was a bit of a let down because we didn't get to see more of the Leviathan. There's a lot less shooty shooty big guys and more puzzles that require team co-ordination to complete.
- D2 is a game that is going to grow and get better with time, and true fans of the game need to focus on the shortcomings rather than just praise Bungie for getting the fundamentals right
With regards to the raid part, he does say that his opinion is different from most peoples. I watched the raid progression on Twitch and people seemed to have a blast with it. It does seem a bit hard for Destiny noobs but nothing you won't overcome if you are willing to put the time in.
Now that the 'honeymoon' period is over, the vocal Redditors are really starting to speak out over the games shortcomings. Is the game worth the base price? Yes seems to be the consensus, but a lot of the hardcore player base is worried as they have already run out of things to do and the next big content drop is the DLC release scheduled for December. This is a game that you are meant to buy and be able to play for several years (with the DLC).
Picked this up on ps4. Loving it so far! Is there a dMw clan?

There is no cross-play but your old PC might be able to handle it depending on its specs then :)
What Main said. I've got a 2500k and 8gb of memory both of which are over 5 years now I think, only my 290x is newer but even then it's not super new or anything. Worked five for me in the beta test and I was running it in high at 1080p. Was getting over 100fps a lot of the time and even then never going below 60fps when things were hectic. It seemed pretty well optimized.
Aaaand the other side of the coin.

I am only interested in PVE with Destiny 2 so am worried about replay-ability. So far all raids and strike missions have the exact enemies at the same places every time so it feels a bit stale after few playthroughs, not sure I would enjoy repeating the missions and knowing i.e. there are two guys around the corner etc. so each play-through is quite similar.
What is your experience Vargen?
The story is linear so the only replay factor comes from the different classes. Can make it easier/harder depending on how you get on with them but if you complete the Raid, without PVP its just waiting between expansions.
