Hi All,
Looking for some advice I am after a cheap keyboard for gaming and have back lit keys if possible. It would need to be from amazon.co.uk as I have £25 voucher. (wow what a cheapskate)
I was wondering if any of you have delved in the bargain department recently.
Thanks
Dean
It's not exactly cheap but it's a no frills mechanical keyboard that I have owned for several years and can recommend highly. At £70 including your voucher it's a bargain. Of course you can get non mechanical keyboards much cheaper but I have no experience of them and so can't make a recommendation.
Corsair K70 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CH-9101024-UK-Rapidfire-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B01ELGQ41W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1506431871&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+k70)
There is a good one from Amazon, a Chinese knock-off mechanical.
A Rii K63c and only £20.

Liberator just bought one and seems to be happy with it, but then he's easily pleased

I got it as a portable one, be aware that they are blue clicky switches and if you wanted to put dampers on you would need 3 per key because of the cap travel.
Reviewed here, but with green LED's. (http://techdissected.com/reviews/accessories/review-rii-k63c-backlit-mechanical-gaming-keyboard/)

Thank you I will order one of these. :-)
Its here and so far so good. Will be gaming later to see how I get on.
Keep us posted if it perfectly works.
Time to rekindle this post as the k93 has served me well for 3 years but I am fed up of the COD dreamteam taking the **** out of my clicky keys. I am looking for 3/4 size i.e. without the keypad and it must be silent.
... do you play with open mic?
It would make much more sense to take steps to reduce what gets sent over the mic, than changing the keyboard. Many of us play with mechanical keyboards and only occasionally annoy each other*.
*Specifically with key noise, I mean.
Yes I do play open Mic however this keyboard is really loud. I sometimes get moaned at by the mrs from upstairs. Its time for a new one anyway.
Don't do it stay with the keyboard don't listen to me. I am surprised its a k93 I am using a k70 mine isn't that loud.
Sorry to clarify its chinese knock off as per snooks recommendation in this thread. Maybe I just get the non knock off version. ;-)
This one looks like what I need. https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/Categories/Products/Gaming-Keyboards/Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboards/K63-Compact-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-%E2%80%94-CHERRY%C2%AE-MX-Red-%28UK%29/p/CH-9115020-UK or this one to match my mouse and headset. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Mechanical-Tenkeyless-Detachable-LIGHTSYNC/dp/B07W6JP28L/ref=sr_1_11?dchild=1&keywords=k63&qid=1605786616&s=videogames&sr=1-11
I would go with the corsair myself. My k70 is 7 years old in Feb. And it is as solid as it was the day I got it !!!
as if by magic, linus did a video yesterday on cheap wireless gaming keyboards

Mechanical keyboards are noisy. They're also expensive. Specific types of mechanical key make less noise than others, but again, they're all expensive.
Traditional rubber dome keyboards are cheaper, and make less noise, bug are also less tactile and generally thought of as 'worse' for gaming. This is, of course, subjective and ultimately its a personal choice.
So, do you want a mechanical keyboard, or a non mechanical keyboard? That's the first question :)
Oh, and for the love of god... Push to talk. :roflmao:

i agree with toby, I spilt at least 2 full pints of stella on my corsair strafe in the uk within a couple of months of each other, and a quick wipe with iso and a couple of days to dry and good as new(ish). That was 4 years ago and its still going, well the mrs is using it for farm town on FB :frusty:
in fact when i decided to get a kb out in Saudi i bought a corsair strafe 2....just no stella to chuck on this one......
