I know we ALL lost our best gear and weapons tonight but DuVeL certainly lost more than most with the weapons he handed out. Let me know if we can replace some Duv and I'm sure we'll all chip in.
Artifact wise, which are we missing? Otherwise I'll have a look tonight.
Please keep in mind that some of these artifacts are doable solo but still better to do in a group (these count for the Island):
-Artifact of the Cunning (1x available) (solo, watch out for bats and lavastreams).
-Artifact of the Imune (2x available) (group, watch out that your combination of scuba and ghilly doesn't get destroyed by the centipedes so bring spares).
-Artifact of the Skylord (1x available) (solo, I'll do this one again if needed, it's a small cave which can be done fast depending where the creatures are, some bats and spiders around).
-Artifact of the Strong (2x available) (group of atleast 4, we've done this one before, watch out for the purlovia's).
About the weapons and armour things that got lost:
I don't need anything back. It was a risk that I took, we needed the highest DPS possible with the best armour for people to wear as we needed the numbers of people.
I already probably have the mats available to make a new set anyway for myself. I'll have a look tonight.

Next attempt - 10 players with 250% dmg, 205 dur assault rifles, 5k ammo each, full ghillie, and shadowsteak.
ShadowSteak = Need to test but it is mentioned that it reduces recoil making assault rifles the king of damage

The dragon is focused on the Rexs under the cliff. They are tucked up to a wall and take less damage. The guys shooting must stay far enough away to avoid getting any agro from the dragon or it will fly
I think next we need to go in cheep gear and just see if we can get the dragon locked into the position on the Vid
Cunning, Devourer and Massive just dropped into the Obelisk chests. I know they're not what we need but I had them at the harbour.

Foods - Sweetcake (Effect needs testing), Shadow steak, Tartar , Cailen soup, Healing brew
Dino - 2 sacrificial 25000hp rexes 2 each for 10 people and saddle. 1x Healing pig
Assault rifle +200% damage and 1000 ammo,
Ghilly Armour. 3 primitive sets each
It may be possible to gather stuff in a more efficient way as a team rather than individually going and getting stuff please have a think how we can streamline the grind.:help2:
Can't find a way to permanently display the active taming group on the screen.
The problem is that the tame group selection acts in toggle mode instead of just being able to hit the key and know it's selected. Easy to get disoriented in battle.
'Z' isn't really an option as it will also add whatever dino you are looking at into the active group.
On the G13 I've been playing and set up a secondary keymap making it so it selects another group before it selects the group I want, thereby cancelling the toggle effect.
I've set up my G13 like this.

Just realised I would need to be able to switch back into ungrouped mode as well, so set up another button to select a tame group, then select another group twice to toggle out of groupings.
Macro key example
Select Tame Group 1 = NumPad9->NumPad1
Select Tame Group 2 = NumPad9->NumPad2
......
Select Tame Group 9 = NumPad8->NumPad9
Deselect Tame Groups = NumPad9->NumPad1->NumPad1

I'm up for giving the Dragon boss a try but it is indeed as you've mentioned: we need the numbers so we have enough DPS.
If there's still stuff needed for it then give a shout and I'm willing to help.
There's still somethings to do though on both maps. Some caves have not been fully explored but I know some people are not really interested in them.
Even if I make a run for the artifact in the small cold cave, it still sends a (cold) chill down my spine because of the tention...
Well taming the giant squids was fun last night so that's something.
I would still like to do the Dragons if we can just to let us play with some tek gear if possible. We also need to kill a gamma dragon to open the tek cave. Regarding that, it appears the trophies are bugged as each time we kill a boss it's meant to drop a trophy. We'll work around that if needed.
Yeah, we went out for a play on them after, unfortunately the "Untamed Carry" setting also affects the squids for their torpor attack. But we did find that we could pull each other off the squids and torpor ourselves.
Tip 1: Do not take off your tank on the surface whilst on a squid, it still counts as being under water as when you get off the thing you are inside it instead of on the saddle where you should be.
Ah this is awesome, I watched some videos of taming these before and it looked so cool. The sea is a large part of ark I've not really explored, as I've always ran out of steam before getting that far (or in this case, left the country!).
Its a shame to see the game going this way within the community, but it's inevitable with this sort of game. It just doesn't offer much in the way of long term compelling end game. As duvel said thought, there are still some bits to explore and I would try to get those done as a group while still possible, even if only 4 or 5 of you.
Also worth pointing out that for a game of this sort, I think ark has actually had a fantastic run in dMw, keeping good fun activity way beyond what I would have expected. I think a big thanks is due to of course the team keeping things running smoothly throughout (both server side and in game), but also to the wider player base in general. Ark has always provided a friendly game to drop into, with everyone going out of their way to help new players, and to work together and look after one another to accomplish the awesome stuff we have done over the servers. To me it has been a great example of dMw community spirit throughout its life, and I think everyone deserves a pat on the back for making it so.
Then I guess when all is done it's off to find the 'next ark', ey? :norty:
