Title: pc build
Post by: JimmyJazz on February 01, 2004, 10:22:50 AM
Im quite new to this but ive been reading up on building my own pc and browsing for components and have settled on an AMD Athlon "Thoroughbred" XP 2200+ cpu, an MSI K7N2 Delta-L Nforce2 Motherboard and some other stuff that i already have and was wondering if you more knowledgeable peeps could give me a hand. First off, what do you think of those choices above, and then what sort of RAM, coolers and PSU do you recommend?

For an extra tenner i would go to the XP2600

Would also recommend the Abit NF7-S v2.0 nForce2 also from Overclockers like TL has posted in another section, i have it and it is a very good board.

I'd go for the Abit tooI use it myself, but I'd probably go for the Barton 2500.  Better default FSB speeds, it runs cooler than a T-bred B like the 2600 and it should also overclock to good levels.  Most 2500s will give you a 200FSB with the right memory.
