Post by: Gortex on January 26, 2018, 11:40:11 AM
Post here if you need a lift to the LAN, or flight details if you need pickup from an Airport. The main London ones are usually best, if possible. We will do our best to sort you out.

LHR

Stansted
Albert - arrives Friday 09:55, departs Sunday at 13:00

Gatwick

Brother Toby kindly offered to pick me up on Friday.

I'm arriving quite a bit earlier than he can swing by so I will catch a train unless someone is passing Stansted around 10am on Friday?

I would really appreciate a lift for the Sunday return leg as it's around a 09:30 departure from March and I expect relying on trains might be a bit optimistic. Cheers, Bert

I plan to be driving this time so should be able to do a lift

Thu: Hatfield to March, aiming to escape work around 3pm, maybe later though
Sun: March to London(N1), I should be able to do an early(ish) departure like "about 0930" (ie 10 :flirty:) via Stansted

Also worth noting I can give lifts from as far up as Birmingham airport if needed

Just checking trains and actually there is only a replacement bus service on Sunday the 6th from March so I really hope someone is leaving early.

I recall doing this train trip a few years ago and a saver return over the weekend was £17.50 ish. It's a disgrace the train prices, even 2 weeks in advance you cannot get a saver ticket, it simply doesn't exist.

So if anyone coming from the South on Friday could swing by and pick me up about 10ish there's a £18.30 single rail fare that becomes beer money lol.

I believe everyone else arriving Friday is arriving either considerably later than 10 (more like late afternoon) or coming from the wrong direction entirely.

Looks like SM may kindly offer to take you back Sunday, though :)

I know mate, just thought the temptation of using a train fare for 6 beers instead may change someones mind ;-)

Caveat: My house build, which was due to finish tomorrow, seems to be running on, so there is an increasing chance that I may need to cancel if I am actually only moving back in to the house next week/weekend :sideways:

Sorry about this, I've had to move my flight to Thursday morning rather than Friday because I may have a job interview in London on Thursday. Good thing is another day at the LAN.

Amsterdam to London Stansted/ Flight number EZY3002/ Departure: 09:45 Thurs 3rd May/ Arrival: 09:55
London Stansted to Amsterdam/ Flight number EZY3003/ Departure: 13:00 Sun 6th May/ Arrival: 15:05

It'll either be 10am or there about for anyone swinging past Stansted
or
3pm approx anywhere near Hammersmith.

Will confirm asap but if anyone can do either of these, beers of appreciation.

Ghost has kindly agreed to pick up albert if he needs it at 10:00.

If albert needs a pickup around 3pm (Hammersmith area), is there anyone that can help him out?

Please only volunteer if you are nearby. No heroic 100+ mile detours*! Although the offer is very kind, no one should be going that far out of their way!

*looking at you sulks, don't think I didn't see that post, nothing gets past me mate :lmfao:

And I can also get to somewhere more useful, like Hatton Cross, not far off the M25. But I will confirm ASAP also spoke with GMjr.

So I'm now coming to lan from London (N1) sometime on Sat, pretty sure that leg of the journey is probably no use to anyone

I'll still be heading back south early-ish on Sunday, so should be fine to do Albert's Stansted run.

I'm home...after an hour an a half drive, the part that failed is a part that was replaced on the 20/04/2018 for 60£ it's failed after about 300 miles?   if that.....(Euro car parts sell really good car parts btw just like argos sells great personal computers) if that.....

I'm not looking forward to going to the garage tomorrow and trying to get my money back ( i have the failed part ,receipt and invoice from aa saying that was wrong) - still not sure where I stand surely should just get my money back right? <- PM me if anyone has advice on this please.

It should be fine for tomorrow's drive if not i'll call the AA out again:roflmao: it's a common problem for the oil pressure switch to fail on the 1.2 Corsa MK B.

Thank you to Cheese & Two bad for their moral support and offering my transport - Very kind & much appreciated.

I'm in very much in need of a pint but i'm doing a night shift tonight into tomorrow morning.

They can't query a part bought in April.

https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/sale-of-goods-act

"If your claim is about a problem that arose within six months of buying  the product, it's assumed that the problem was there on the day you  received it. It's up to the retailer to prove that the goods were of  satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, or as described when it sold  them."

Really can't see them complaining about a £60 part. A £2,000 turbo possibly but I'd be really surprised they'd blow the goodwill and negatives over a part which was obvioulsy supplied faulty.
