Title: Computer Desk Recommendations
Post by: TheDvEight on February 08, 2018, 12:48:57 PM
Hi all,

Hope we're well :).

I just wanted some recommendations for a new pc desk - currently I have a glass one that's been handed down to me and isn't that wide and has no storage options.

Just after something via amazon/eBay that fits the following;

I would prefer to stay away from mdf as I don't like this sort of material - i'll compermise a little but don't want the whole thing to be mdf.

Thanks All!

An additional suggestion, have you tried looking at the local charity and office surplus/salvage outlets?

I have a c.3 metre meeting table which visitors to my office drool over when they see it.  It looks like a £1,000 boardroom table but it cost me just £50 from a charity warehouse.   I also have a brilliant 2m wide desk in my home office (for gaming not work!) which was bought new but cheap from an office salvage/surplus place.

Worth checking out some of the options!

Ikea do some really nice ones,  which are really customizable to suit your needs

You choose the size & type of table top you want then pick the legs

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/desks/table-tops-legs/linnmon-table-top-black-brown-art-10251352/
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/desks/table-tops-legs/adils-leg-silver-colour-art-10217971/

instead of legs you can have a set of drawers on one side
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/storage-furniture/drawer-units-storage-cabinets/alex-drawer-unit-grey-art-00261295/

This is the configuration I have but mine is the black table top with grey drawers

Better if you are able to pick them up your self as ikea delivery is quite expensive.

Edit-the holes on the table tops are pre drilled so you just bolt the legs on

ive had one of these for 3 years, fits everything on , including wheels. really good value for money, i got it for £60 in their new years sales. i also didn't put the horizontal/vertical shelves in the middle (leg area), and tbh as long as i doesn't get moved round too much doesn't need them

I quite like this, as it's very similar to my wifes so wont look too out of place...what do you think?

I think that looks very small.. Won't give you much room for your gaming area. Mouse, keyboard, and monitor will take up 90% of it, you'll be cramped. Something bit bigger (like sulks posted) would be better if your room can fit it.
