Title: Hunt Showdown
Post by: RogueTaylor on February 25, 2018, 02:55:25 PM
Howdy all,

Lovable Rogue here to bring attention to a new game that i think could have good possibility to be a great game that i can see a lot of people playing, mostly looks at them who play a lot of PUBG. Hunt : showdown is the game, so far the game consists of you playing as a monster bounty hunter and you are on a bounty to hunt down and kill a certain monster. Currently there are  two bosses in the game 1st being the Butcher and he is like the tank of bosses, massive slow and hits like a truck ( best killed with shotguns or explosives) the second is the one normally seen in the trailers and game play and that creepy bugger is the spider, this one is smaller and a lot quicker, uses the ceilings to run around and has the ability to jump on a person and poison them if left on a person long enough ( best killed with gunfire by most guns).

So far sounds quiet simple and maybe a bit boring if all you are doing is hunting down monster, "been there done that" i am sure you are thinking. Well what if i said that wasn't it, them bosses you are after isn't the only things on the map that wants you dead and can earn money for killing. Which is one of the reasons i like the sound of this game, there are also a bunch of other monsters and creatures on the map that want to kill you. The main and most basic are the zombies, simple to kill either shot them ( which will be loud and give your position away) or hit them with one of the melee weapon in the game for a more silent approach. Other specialized monsters can be things like the dreaded Hell Hound ( quick and hurt when they bite down on you and keep you in place) Then there are bee ladies ( The Hive )  as i call them who will shoot bees out at you in you get to close to her or alert her. There is then the... well i don't know what it is or what its called but rumour has it they call it the Meathead, big bulking things that surprising have a good speed about them and all they want to do i cut up little hunters. The last thing that i know about and have fought is the Leech, this horrible thing spawns leeches around it to help bring the hunters down.

Now that gives it a bit more Bang for its Buck, them monsters ain't the only things to watch out for and some say these are more dangerous and monstrous then the monsters themselves ...other hunters. This is not just a PvE game but a PvP game as well. In this other bounty hunters are out for the same contract you are and what's a bit of blood shed between contracts? In this you work as a pair to find the bounty that you are after but like i said you are not the only pair out there hunter down the bounty, your pair is up against 5 other pairs of hunters making that 10 other hunters out on the map looking to kill you and clam the bounty for themselves.

When you start a game of this you will be with your partner at one of the spawns, from here you will want to use your outer world scenes to try to find the clues ( a blue light will show the clues, these can only be seen in the scene mode)  to where the bounty is hiding. You need 3 clues to get the final location of the bounty, each one you find will shrink the area of which the monster could be hiding. Once all the clues are found and on your map will show you clearly where the bounty is...well of you go to try and kill it and trust me this isn't an easy thing. Now say you are a bit late and the other teams of people found the bounty first, well its your choice fight them both at the same time or do what me and addx did, wait till they kill the beast then go and kill the pair. Once the bounty is dead it isn't over yet you then need to banish the beast, this will take a few minutes and leaves you very much exposed, other hunters teams could come and find you and claim the bounty for themselves if they kill you. Once the bounty has been banished it will drop the contract for you to pick up.. then you need to escape. With the contract in hand you both must run to one of the 3 exits on the map, and wait 20 seconds one there to escape the map and claim your money and experience. When you do have the bounty in hand the other players will easily be able to find you because when they use the unreal sense they will see lighting over the player with the bounty meaning they can easily ambush you and claim the bounty for themselves.

Now just briefly the weapons and hunters you will be using. When you start the game you have 666 credits to spend on your first hunter, you will have the option of 4 hunter to buy. Each one will have there own special load out including weapon, perks and consumables and each will cost different amount of credits. You will earn your own ranks which allows you to buy guns and other items for your hunters BUT hunter also have there own ranks so that that they can get more health and perks for them. When buying a hunter you will have look at what is really worth it , do you go for the one that only cost 89 and has a basic Winchester rifle or the one at 268 who has the bolt action sniper rifle. One thing be said once a hunter dies, that's it he is dead for good and isnt coming back so you will have to buy a new hunter to play as.

Anyway that's enough from me, thanks for reading my essay about this game and see you in game. ( Sorry for any bad grammar in this was in a rush so i do apologise)

I was on the last closed alpha and it was great fun. Pretty tough with both AI and players around, then all the monsters and the nasty boss. We ambushed a couple of guys who defeated the boss, near the escape point.

Nice review mate, pretty sums up my thoughts and views on game also.  Only issue, which has been mentioned in past is it's game life, with a 1km² map and only 2 bosses at moment, be great to see at least another map and other game modes.

Game is very pretty, and scary as hell with how the sound is used. Definitely game to watch and see how it develops

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE, Tooooooo scary :D!!!

In all seriousness I've enjoyed the games i've played so far. Obviously the Duo games have been more fun sharing the experience with someone.

This game has a serious talent for sucking you into the environment with the atmosphere created. The sounds are phenomenal.

I dare you to play with the lights off!

Game looks great. I'll be keeping a keen eye on this while I'm away. I only hope Crytek build on it enough to justify its continued existence.. Still, for those interested right now it looks to deliver a lot of quality even if not much quantity. Not every game has to offer 500 hours for the price of entry, as long as the few hours it does give you are solid fun.

Cheers RT for posting up about it!
