Title: Game Types

OK so we have the Twitch stream and everyone sort of trundles along happily but there isn't much else going on. How would people feel about doing some Duo nights rather than all in 3 and 4's. I think most agree that duo has the best risk vs reward for BP and might encourage some new groupings. Been a bit quiet on, or am I just looking at the wrong time?

Any thoughts?

Happy to try the duo thing if you want, although there’s no reason why people couldn’t specify that they want to play duos rather than squads in gerneral anyway, unless they are just being polite.

Could possibly use this Thursday or next as a trial to see if we have more interest in duos?

I’ve been having FPS issues for some reason which I need to pull my finger out and try and fix.. that coupled with being rather hooked on seige is why I have been somewhat quiet with PUBG recently, I’m also sick of cheaters.

With overwatch, we ran different games depending on numbers. When we had 12+ on it was usually 6v6 competitive. Less than that and we did FFA or more casual / themed game modes. We found that no matter what we did, some people would moan because all they wanted to play was X, and others only wanted to play Y. Some weirdos even preferred Z.

We tried to mix things up to keep it varied and make sure everyone got a bit of what they wanted from week to week, but this was difficult - you can't please everyone (which sometimes can feel like you can't please anyone).

PUBG is a little easier as you don't need 12 people to run the most popular mode. If you have 6 on you can run a 4 and a 2, or 3 lots of 2.. It's just more flexible. However you will still have the X Y Z problem. Some people just won't enjoy duos, some will love it. Because of this I would caution against trying to 'force' certain modes. You simply don't have to do it as much as we did with Overwatch, due to the aforementioned flexibility.

You can still nudge and make suggestions (which alleviates the polite issue sparko mentioned), but try not to be too heavy handed. You don't want to put people off by making them feel forced to play a game mode they don't enjoy. Asking people if they fancy X Y or Z and putting members with similar preferences together to accommodate this is better than forcing it, and in time you will learn who likes what and who plays well with who.

The most important thing is making sure everyone in that discord is involved in a game / the when they want to be.

P. S. Apologies if this is already obvious and I'm teaching you to suck eggs here! :D

Thanks Chaos,
As you say the key is everyone being involved, we do have much better flexibility due to the modes available. Also finding someone crazy enough to team up with me isn't that difficult in our little community.
