Seems there is a bug causing problems when you beat the final boss. In short, backup your save file, or you might end up with a corrupted character you can't play any longer.

Also. if you are getting lack of session connections at login or regular disconnects with teh 5038 error, add this to your launch options under properties in steam:
[FONT=&]-nofriendsui -udpforce
Apparently the new friends UI has all sorts of issues with games and all this on and off friends crap and disconnects is not MHWs fault. UDP just works better than tcp for the 2nd setting.[/FONT]

Good news. I've watched a few reviews from prominent reviewers who trashed the game as they couldn't stay connected from more than a few minutes and were therefore unable to even do a review. Not really fair on the underlying game but there you go....
No, that's fair. Developers should be punished* for lazily porting console games to PC and releasing them with obvious game breaking bugs. It's unacceptable.
Now let me just get some ice cream to go with my hypocrisy, as I've been really enjoying the game despite this and other 'problems'. It's funny, I enjoy it but at the same time I'm internally moaning :lmfao:.
*It's sold something like 10 million units (this may be PS4 and PC combined?), so unfortunately nothing to discourage further lazy porting going on here :(. More ice cream please!
Only thing the disconnects have stopped me from doing is grouping up. Can still play the game solo. "shrugs"
Yeah, but when you bought it to play with friends, it's a bit naff. The game is infinitely more fun in a group, IMO.
So yes, glad they have fixed it!

I Agree its not fair, to say that this game can't be played or reviewed because the online functions ain't working in a fashion that we want and expect should't mean this is a terrible game. As of writing this i have 79 hours in this game, about 20-30 MAX have been online i would say. I have had troubles connecting to friends and at time i need to treat it like a console game to get the online working But does this make the game hard to review ? NO not at all. The multiplayer is simply a part of this game and yes it doesn't work well right now i wont deny this fact. For there first attempt well i take my hat off to them. I have a beautiful game that i can still play with friends even if at times there is a few problems, its not like it has no online or ability to play with friends.
This game i feel is meant to be a BOTH a solo and multiplayer game and i think most of it is best solo and i say this from my experience in this game. Please don't get me wrong i love play with people like the lights of Jay, Pnuts ,Milli and even that beautiful Dr Chaos but the best moments are when you single-handedly stand over that monster you almost died fighting or even failed 2 times before but on that 3rd attempt you was able to best it with your new armour and buffs. The best example for me would be killing the Rathalos alone and the final boss i was able to beat on my second try on solo, That feeling is great to have. You can get this from having friends join you but until the much higher levels you just find yourself either steam rolling over the monster or dying more to it because it has that 2.3x health buff and you wasn't ready for this monster but your friend is max level so they are fine.
This game is great and at times a grind, this is when its best for friends and there are a few fixes me Jay and others have found to get around the connection issues. I do love this game and its hard to see people moan about this game for the reason the online doesn't work (not talking about anyone in DMW you are all the best :P) but this game is made for both. Thanks for reading my rant just wanted to say it was all.
Totally agree smilo.... Nothing compares to having a solo kill on a monster you've been banging your head against for a while 🤣
I'm still having disconnects, but obviously it's not been fixed yet which is disappointing.
But I'm loving the game.

I feel the trick of disabling the big picture overlay in the steam in game settings and then in the MHW launch options disabling the new gui for friends plus forcing udp has made a 90% improvement in my in hunt multiplayer stability. I did all of yesterday with only 1 jump to offline and that was a lucky one becauase the target was asleep ready to cap. Not a real fix I know but real QoL improvement.

Hunters it seems it has come to the time where we get a new playmate in the game... there name is Deviljo and its not a happy little dino. He will be released tomorrow so good luck hunting hunters, He has some very strong weapons .... if you can kill him that is :boxing: Oh and a little more info he can turf war with most things in the game and even the the other dinos find him hard to handle

If anyone needs Zenny, bring your Bandit Mantle and Crit Spray and join Sneaky and I in earning 40K every 5 minute run. Helps if you have a high level Heavy Bow Gun but anything that does lots of hits will do the trick.
There’s and Autumn Festival Event happening right now with some very nice rewards. The Harvest Armor (male and female versions but the male is epic and the female is grotbaggs, but both have an overlay version as well!) The Behemoth Great Sword, Kulu Head, Wiggler Head, Bada55 sunglasses, cat ghosty armor and weapon which is lovely. I can help you grind out the parts for the arena gear pretty quickly if you want to grab these items. Just discord PM me.

Personally I have moved on. Enjoyed my time with the game but I'd rather play different things now.
Still on occasionally, will do the Lunstra event for sure. Shame more people didn't see the end game because the 4 person team dynamics are what makes this game amazing for me. Building a great team of 4 can have such an impact, even if not everyone is really high level, just knowing what to bring along and how to work together. I think most people saw it as a solo game. Still got a lot of life in it and I believe Capcom will keep delivering new content in future.
I did one Lunestra arena last night... tough as nails! Take a 80 defense Teostra armor set and a fire proof mantle and don’t stand in the blue fire!
