Post here if you need a lift to the LAN, or flight details if you need pickup from an Airport. The main London ones are usually best, if possible. We will do our best to sort you out!

Me and Kake will be arriving at Heathrow terminal 2 at 10:50 on the Thursday, flight SK 4629.
I assume Kake will be headed back out again from Heathrow at 17:30 as per usual, while I can be returned to London at any point (I'm taking a couple of extra days there, so time and location doesn't matter).

I can drop Faust in London Sunday.
I've updated the OP with who needs what. Have a look and if you think you can help out, let me know :)
I'll be traveling with the following details and would love transport help if possible (traveling with one suitcase):
Arrival: WEDNESDAY 10 Oct, 09:25 @ London Gatwick
Departure: Sunday 14 Oct, 17:30 @ London Stansted
Mostly in need of transport from Gatwick to March, as Stansted is easy to reach by train.
Anyone coming from Manchester on thursday who can give me a lift, Live in Disbury/Withington
Arriving to Stansted at 8:05 on Friday and going out from the same airport at 17:50 on Sunday so if anyone is able to pickup/drop of it would be amazing. Don't mind waiting a bit at the airport :)
I Haven't booked any flights yet I can prob go to Luton or Stanstead if anyone is passing. Ill post some options tomorrow.
Thanks

You haven't booked in for LAN yet, have you? chop chop, only 3 slots left.
I'm registering my potential to help with the transport but can't confirm anything yet. This will be Dexterous' first LAN and he will be coming along from Coventry, so I'll potentially be going from Milton Keynes, then northwest to Coventry and then east to the LAN, so adding a southeast trip to an airport from Coventry may prove impossible. I also don't know which day I will need to pick up Dex as he doesn't know what his lecture schedule will be. So, if possible I'll help out, but I won't know what I can do until about October.
Likewise. My plan is to drive up from Hertfordshire on Wednesday mid morning and return on Sunday. So in theory I could pick up Oth and SJ from Heathrow but I still need to confirm a few work related things before I commit to Wednesday. As soon as I get things straight I'll advise. I can certainly give lifts on Sunday to any of the airports (Heathrow, Luton, Stanstead)
Similar situation. Sorting out some holiday changes which might free me up for the Weds. If so then I could do the Gatwick or Heathrow run in the morning / afternoon along with a return for anyone to Heathrow on Sunday. If not going on Weds then I can pick up some from Heathrow on the way up on Thursday.
In addition I could also do a taxi run from March to Heathrow and back on Thursday as would then have an empty car to carry lots of large bags etc and leave my colleagues to set up the lan room. If this is the case then I might ask for a few additional pennies for the fuel cost as 4 hour round journey might get a bit pricey.
Another uncertain offer... :narnar:
In theory I'll be driving, though still need to hire a car, buy a computer, etc
That said, I should be driving after (early escape from Hatfield...) work on Thursday, so probably no use for pickups. Sunday driving into central-ish (N1) London so Stansted can be more or less on the way.
Is anyone able to give me a lift from Northampton Thurs/Sunday
Nonrthampton is right next to me (Milton Keynes), so potentially yes. Pending my previous post, I'll be able to confirm something nearer the time when I know how Dex is getting to the LAN from Coventry.
Thanks TL
I won't be needing a lift after all thank you.
Hey so my flight options are:
Arrive Thursday at Luton - 10:10
- 15:50
Stanstead - 9:25
Depart Sunday at Luton - 13:00
- 14:25 (preferred)
- 16:35
Stanstead - 13:10
Let me know if you can help me out soon as the prices are jumping up.
Thanks
I can take you/pick you up to Luton for petrol monies
Sounds good mate 15.50 on Thursday ok?
yeah, can you pm me your mobile number, when you want picking up/taking to luton and where I need to pick you up from (been a while since I went to luton airport) cheers
Let me know when you have confirmed flights Rambo so we can try to sort a lift out.
Flights booked i forgot about ryanair and they had better options and was cheaper.
Arrive Stansted Thursday 12:25
Depart Stansted Sunday 12:50
If anyone's passing on Thursday let me know otherwise i can get the train into March. Ill need a lift on Sunday though probably with Albert and Duvel as our flight leaves around the same time.
Thanks
This thread seems slow compared to previous years.
/me starts looking at train tables
I think a fair few people are still waiting to confirm other details before committing. Hard to know if it's worth waiting to see, or booking alternative transportation now. I'm not sure train prices go up too much (but I'm not a regular user), so it may be worth holding fire for another couple of weeks...
Alternatively, have you thought of hiring a car, Willy? There are 4 of you arriving at LHR at the same time, it may be cheaper than the train when split between you?
Hire car has been considered, but if someone is going past that's better for a number of reasons;
Chief amongst them: you lot drive on the wrong side of the road.
Also: being a passenger means I can drink at the airport and the plane :)

I'm almost certainly driving up on Wednesday at some point and driving back on Sunday afternoon. I'll drive right past Luton or Stanstead depending on route, so could pick up from either.
Heathrow is about 15 miles in the wrong direction for me, but if someone is desperate I could detour .
Ok lots of things checked out and I will be definatly driving up to March on Thursday. I will be passing Heathrow so am very happy to pick people up and drop back np.
I can fit 4 in but not baggage as well so put me down to pick 2 up and return.

Guys this is what I am still struggling to organise -
Heathrow 10:50 arrival Thursday, 17:30 departure Sunday - 2 people both ways.
Heathrow Sunday 17:30 departure - 2 people.
Stansted Sunday 13:00 departure - 2 people.
Please let me know if you can help. In particular we need transport confirmed for the Stansted departure pair as their flight time is quite early in the day.
Fyi noticed I'm not on the Standsted list so posting again: I'll will arrive to Stansted at 8:05 on Friday and my flight leaves at 17:50 on Sunday, if no one can do it I'm sure there is a train I can take since the train station aint to far away and just a short drive away, just need to know what one :)
Doh, sorry Hal my fault for missing you off. I'll edit the top post when I'm next home. Happy to come get you from March again if you do end up taking the train in.
Dex goes to Uni next weekend, so I should know shortly after that what I am able to help with (or not help with).
Thanks TL, still 4 weeks to go so people can hold off on train tickets for now, I'd say.
I've updated the top post with Hal added to it.
Still plenty of need for good Samaritans people :D
Quote from: suicidal_monkey;433759Another uncertain offer... :narnar:
I am still hoping to drive (and could then do Stansted Sunday drop offs) but it depends on hire car price. Right now it's annoyingly high - it usually drops 30-40% on short (1 or 2 weeks) notice. Given that I'll likely only firm up my own train/drive plan towards end Sept. I'd suggest people shouldn't worry about train tickets until then either :flirty: you like gambling right?
P.s. If I do end up driving I could get Faust to London (I go back to Angel/Islington) and Hal and Sixthor could go to stansted later with Ghosty? Assuming you guys plus kit will all ram into a standard car ...and assuming Faust doesn't mind leaving earlier :D
Cool monkey, let us know when you can mate.
Would be better if you could fit Albert and/or Duvel in, as they both have early departures from Stansted. Faust and six I already have covered.
I'm focussing more on getting people to the LAN right now, and those early departures who would struggle with a Sunday morning train.
Hi Chaos,
I'll be driving over from Bristol on the Thursday and back on the Sunday (not early) so can still fit 2 people in each way from anywhere en route if that still useful?
Transport list at top has been updated.
Only thing we need now is a drop off on Sunday @ Stansted for a plane time of 13:00, albert & Duv.
Can anyone help with this return journey?
That's an early start on Sunday and I know there are no direct trains that early.
If no one is around I'm sure you guys have through about hiring a car for the four days. Europcar are really cheap, it's something like £50 for that duration (£25 each). Not ideal I know but I'm not sure what other options there'll be if no one is leaving that early?
I'd also point out that Stansted is really crap at the moment. They've increased passenger numbers exponentially over the last six months and the infrastructure just isn't in place to accommodate. I'd therefore give yourselves extra time to get through bag drop and passport control.
Good advice, Pen.
I've managed to sort one early Stansted already (thanks Jewelz), but there isn't any more room in that car :/
Anyone else fancy an early start Sunday?
Ok so Gortex can do the early Stansted run on the Sunday. Is there someone that can do a Heathrow run in his place? 2 people, plane at 17:50.
y'all are awesome .. you know that right? :)
Looks like Turd has saved the day as between him being able to take 3 back and Gortex doing the early trip we should have it covered.
I agree with mirianna, those helping with transport ARE awesome.
By the way things are still cramped on the Sunday so if you CAN help with a London airport rub on Sunday PLEASE let us know.
I should firm up plans of [train/car] by early next week, and if it's car then Stansted and (kings cross ish)London are on my way :flirty:
...I have not found Pen's level of deals yet :g:
I was looking at Europcar car hire at Stansted 11-14th

Quote from: Penfold;434731I was looking at Europcar car hire at Stansted 11-14th
London effect I guess  Europcar kings cross is ~73 for same window, and Avis Euston is ...somewhat more. Both those are trickier pickups
Enterprise near my work (11-15th) is today quoting 76 for an "aygo or similar". That is down from about 130 a week ago, and down from 90 yesterday! I am playing chicken until Monday latest to see if it drops a third time :flirty: and why I've not confirmed yet:rolleyes:
Car booked!
Sunday: driving from March to London[N1] and will happily do a Stansted dropoff (and/or a London[N1] dropoff)
Thursday: driving from Hatfield sometime in the afternoon, but don't think that's of much use wrt lifts?
NB price dropped again since my last post  so I have booked a "Corsa or similar" for a few quid more than the tiny Aygo, and I rent from them a lot so will try for an upgrade :flirty:
Brill Monkey.
We'll put you as a backup for albert / duvel / Rambo - it all depends on car space. Currently Gortex is due to take all 3 to Stansted for around midday, so if there is any chance he will struggle to fit them all in, we will ask you to help out with 1-2 of them. :thumb:
Hey, thanks Smilo! Your detour is greatly appreciated!
No problem. Just need to pump the tyres up and we're good to go!

youve had some work done smilo...preferred the original dilapidated look
Update: I have requested Thu pm off work and am now aiming to be leaving work (Hatfield) by 1pm Thu (might be earlier but depends on hire car pickup etc).
Looking at the first post I could divert to pick up Rambo from Stansted, though that means some more waiting around for him (I would get to Stansted maybe 1330-1400) and probably a slower journey (direct train from Stansted to March takes 1h05m during the week) so your call! :flirty:
I'll message him directly on discord and ask him to reply to you here asap.
Thanks Monkey!
Thanks Monkey, I have booked a train ticket so there is no point picking me up if it takes you out of the way.
As it's a weekday, the train will most likely leave sooner and travel faster than me&car, so as you already have ticket it's an easy decision! :)
If things change (trains on strike  etc) let me know!
Travel safe, those of you on the move today!
See you all soon! :yahoo:
Drive safe Thursday people! The beer is primed and ready for your arrival! :yahoo:
Safe journey and have a great lan lots of pictures please 😀
