Thanks Whitey, it's really hard to find a server that is not running the premium maps so this is really helpful.

Thanks.

https://www.origin.com/gbr/en-us/store/battlefield/battlefield-1

Just make sure when you click purchase you go for the standard edition (£5). There is some other edition with extras you don't need, and also the monthly subscription to EA Access to avoid.

Then, with the game purchased, find the 'Battlefield 1 Premium Pass' with the link below and add that to your library (free).

I installed it today, well yesterday and today, the 85GB was rather inconvenient. It was actually alright, except for every time I alt-tab out it moves my game to the secondary screen which is not in front of my face :doh:

25 boxes to open from getting the free premium pass. I never opened any of them, just to see how difficult it was from the start. I was mid table, 12 kills vs 5 deaths. Ran a bit jerky but that might have been my aiming hand lol.

So what they don't tell you, when you open Battlepacks and if you get duplicate skins for in game weapons, you can scrap them from your inventory later for 270 scrap. If you get the bonus Squad XP as you open a box, it does not stack in the inventory so unless you scrap it as you open the box you lose the scrap value. For me that was about 3000 Scrap. Total BS.

So scrap any duplicate right away by the sounds of it. Thanks mate. Bit of a naff system indeed. Still, quite looking forward to playing this (maybe later today if I get a chance).

To be fair on it, it's a fun game. Even in a squad of pubbies I was doing fine, feels less of a hike from spawn points to the action compared to BF4. The starting guns feel nice.

Turns out I was able to scrap extra squad xp boosts from inventory with no problem, so not sure what's going on?

Oh and p.s. Yes, quite fun!

I noticed I could use them, which meant they are consumables which I didn't think they were and since first looking at the skins I could scrap I haven't seen a scrap option anywhere near the squad XP up icon.

But looking at their usefulness, the game is structured to level in such a way that even with unlimited scrap you can only unlock new weapons as you also level up your character. So no rush to unlock everything.
