Honor 8x
While still technically going strong my trusty Nexus 5x is getting a bit tatty. The battery is definitely past it's prime and struggles to last a full day. So I went hunting a replacement. I looked at 'on contract' phones but the combination of two year lock-ins and my dislike for any of the big mobile networks I decided to stick with my monthly sim only deal and buy a new phone outright. I thought about a CEX second hand special, but eventually spent £229.00 on a Honor 8x
For a mid range offering the phone is an absolute stunner. It's not a £800+ top spec phone but at about a quarter the price of a flagship iPhone or Samsung it's really amazingly good to use. The EMUI isn't terrible and the stock apps/crap games can be deleted simply enough. I use the open source Lawnchair Launcher anyway so EMUI's pluses and minuses aren't a concern for me anyway. Huawei does offer services that seem pointless clones of Google's if you register with them. Cloud picture and document backup etc plus the Huawei App Store have no real use if you use a Google account and the Google App store. I just skipped the Huawei sign up screen when I first started the phone and that was that.
So a 5/5 from me and a review for you https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/review/smartphones/honor-8x-3685066/
And it's £229.99 from Argos/ Amazon which I'm still struggling to make sense of.
Honor have made a couple of great phones at that range mate, they seem to do very well there, glad you have found your new toy.

Well if you are looking for an excellent midrange phone then I would recommend the Honor 10. Currently £200
