morning pertrol heads, I'm thinking of buying a wheel and poss a rig. Any advice appreciated. Cheap as buttons, works on PC and PS would be good, but not show stopper. Had a look at the second hand market and seems to be about £150 all in.
I'm not sure how much use it will get but I want to dip my toe. I blame Worlds Fastest Gamer on Ginx!

Agreed, that was great fun! :D
Hi Benny, :racing:
Have a look at this: https://www.windowscentral.com/logitech-g920-vs-g29-racing-wheel The G920 is not compatible with the PS, as far as I can tell.
I'd recommend the G29 according to that article, although they both are very similar, The G29 has more features and PS compatible. I don't have experience with either though. I use the Predecessor, the G27 (which is very good and has lasted years with much, much use :) ) .
I think if you could get a second hand G27 for cheap that would also be cool (although PS4 compatibility is not straight forward, see below). One big advantage of the G27 is that it comes with a H-Pattern Shifter. However, you can now buy separate shifters too, i.e. Logitech do a nice one for about £35 https://www.scan.co.uk/products/logitech-driving-force-gaming-gear-shifter-pc-ps4-xbox-one-for-g29-and-g920?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyeyOpbS_5gIVhLHtCh2wWw_cEAYYASABEgJfqfD_BwE
Amazon G29: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Driving-Racing-Pedals-UK-Plug/dp/B00YUOVBZK/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=logitech%2Bwheel%2Bg27&qid=1576678808&sr=8-2&th=1
Worth shopping around especially this time of year or January. I think prices and deals will vary greatly on the G29 as it is a few years old now.
Article about G27 compatibility with PS4 : https://www.psu.com/news/does-logitechs-g27-wheel-work-with-ps4/
Wheel options for less than the G29/920 will most likely only have a brake and throttle, no clutch. Lots of sims support the use of the Clutch these days, which I think adds a large amount of fun and options to the driving experience. Also, a lot of the cheaper wheel sets will have cheaper plastic pedals, which wont feel as nice.

Thanks mate I didnt spot that and about 920. This man he knows his stuff listen to him Benny :)
was going to pipe in with some helpful comment, but as the ones above answer the question, so my 5p is
had a g27 then went to a g29, never played it on the console, but it is epic on the PC.
Also for whatever game you play with it on the pc, there will be a guide on youtube about how to get the best out of it for said game
I have the G27, I found it on warehouse repair from Amazon for cheap, sometimes they pop up. The G29 is prepbably better value than the G27 was originally, as the 27 was way over priced.
Thank you all! Sounds like I need to lay my hands on a G29 if poss. Will see what I can find!
Cheers
B
Currently on offer at Currys with code. (https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/logitech-driving-force-g29-g920-wheel-gearstick-bundle-14640-at-currys-with-code-deal20logi-3370478)
Not bad at all, Nice find!
Thanks Lib, I've found a few on offer, but a parcel turned up which my missus wouldn't let me see. Either she's been reading my amazon wishlist and my luck's in or I've just got another present I'll have to pretend to like.
#humbug.
Hi Benny,
Interestingly I recently bought a PS4 Pro (to play GT Sport), waited for Black Friday and Bought a G29 and a Playseat Challenge.
Haven't tested them yet as the Mrs took them and wrapped them for xmas.... grrr ;)
G29 was £150, with shifter and Playseat challenge was £150.
I chose the Playseat challenge as the wheel and pedals can stay attached but be folded up and put in a cupboard when not used.

Cheers hotstuff, I've just finished shopping for the missus so I reckon I'm in the black come Xmas day, which means.....if I don't get what I want I'm gonna buy it any way :)
I reckon two theatre tickets equals a full racing set up :)

And then some, at least some of the end of the evening special ;).
Was it?

Everything but!
Controller, flight stick amongst others but no wheel.
That said I dropped my boys tv, so boxing day was a little ahem expensive. Will keep an eye on the sales sites.
Ouch... "Honest Mr Currys man, the TV was broken when I opened the box".
Recommend the Wheel and Chair, taking some getting used to but within an hour matching my best controller times.
Also got an Elite 2 controller.
Argos seem to have an offer of at the moment.
G920, G29 and a racing stand for £200. (https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/logitech-g920g29-racing-wheel-xbox-oneps4-plus-shifter-plus-racing-rig-3386187)
Cheers Lib, I'm a shpock and ebay whore at present, but that is very tempting. Lowest I've seen the 920 go for is about £120 but that is very very tempting.
