Post by: DuVeL on February 10, 2004, 04:52:21 PM
It's 10000 in size. Wow, haven't had such 1 be4.

Now folding the Project: 729 (Run 5, Clone 5, Gen 19).

Does any of you guys get these size of WU's?

That's a small 100 framer I think, only worth 11.7 points!   One of machines (a 2500 Barton) is muching through an 8 pointer (project 814) at a frame every 5 minutes, but that one has 12,000 atoms to calulate rather than 200!   What rate are you folding at on 729?

Check here (http://folding.stanford.edu/psummary.html) for the points per WU and project numbers.  The biggest gromacs that I get tend to be 2,500,000, but this is misleading as most are still only 400 frames!

[18:34:44] Writing local files
[18:34:46] Completed 2500000 out of 10000000 steps  (25)
[18:37:26] Writing local files
[18:37:28] Completed 2600000 out of 10000000 steps  (26)
[18:40:09] Writing local files
[18:40:11] Completed 2700000 out of 10000000 steps  (27)
[18:42:59] Writing local files
[18:43:01] Completed 2800000 out of 10000000 steps  (28)

2 seconds to get to the next point.

Yes, use Console Version 4 - it folds faster than graphical.  You need to enable SSE to get it to go quickly.  With F@H version 4.0 there are some new flags added. If you want SSE enabled under version 4.0 and later then you need to add the flag -forcesse to your target line. My shortcut looks like this:

"C:\Documents and Settings\Paul\My Documents\My Received Files\Folding\FAH4Console.exe" -local -forcesse -advmethods

Existing users of version 3.25 beta would need to remove the -forcesse and replace it with -forceasm.  -forceasm is not used under version 4 or later.

Enabling SSE will speed up your folding by about 30%.  The start up note sin the console on a new WU should say 'SSE Enabled'.  If it says 3DNow then you have done it wrong!

Next question will be: 'can I change the client in mid-WU?'.  The answer here is YES!  Just save the console client in the same folder as your current version.  Edit the shortcut to point at the new version 4 console client, shut the old oen down, click the shortcut and version 4 will open up.  Ignore the warnigns at the beginning, they are normal!

each 20point bit is taking about an hour so 30hours of folding at it should be done
