well have a look here and see how yours could perform. Obviously cpu, mem and hd type made raise or lower your performance in game in relation to those shown

was thinking on dowloading msfs2020 as its on game pass, but would my 6700k and 1080 be upto the task?

The 6700k and the 1080 will have no issues running the game, although you will need to possibly only run it at high settings, not ultra

I think yes, it runs fine on my 1070ti and 6800K.
