Anyone else watch the launch? Nvidia has done competition finally! I'll wait for real world tests, but it is looking increasingly likely that the system upgrade will be all AMD.
Didn't watch the launch, but I've watched a few of the tech youtubers vids & things look interesting, only built my rig just before xmas so no upgrade plans yet, but it's good to see that AMD are hopefully competing on both cpu & gpu fronts.

Watched some of the launch and JayzTwoCents video.
Looking at a new build in the new year, hopefully using the 5000 and 6000 together. Depends if it all fits in my budget.
I had a small delve into the leanuch and specs. Certainly looks like a no-brainer.
I am curious though how ray tracing peformance will compare to the RTX cards. Given that it's RDNA2 introduces hardware to the mix, if should be similar, if not then why not?
GDDR6X also is quite a shift in technology of GDDR6, albeit AMD ships with more memory, how the cards read and write to memory should reduce the need for more as they simply don't have to leave data on there for longer. Did nVidia develpo GDDR6X because normal GDDR6 was a bottlenck?
The power consumption also being less is a win as well because some of the RTX cards were making a PSU upgrade necessary.
What I don't like about AMD's way of presenting their product is that they don't seem as transparent as to how they got to this point vs nVidia who bared a lot more in their launch. I'll have to watch the whole thing to get more comfortable with the details.
All the same, it doesn't really matter in the end how they do it, if it's faster, cheaper, less power hungry and preforms as good as the new RTX cards, then they can add more performance through their synergie with ZEN CPUs, why anyone buy new this year would not go for AMD all the way is beyond me.

Where is the best place to concentrate the F5 refresh effort on the 18th to try and get a 6800XT?
nVidias site was hell due to the bots and even with a 3080 in the cart with the payment page showing it failed.
I’m quite keen to not fail this time. Of course I would still take a founders 3080 but that’s bit a dream!
Seemingly (don't quote me) but nVidia will be putting a number of Founders Edition 30XX series on sale about the same time that AMD go live with their new card, this Wednesday at 14:00 GMT.
I'm hoping the NL site do the same, a 3080 is perfectly acceptable as far as I'm concerned.
