Title: Help?
Post by: DarkAngel on February 28, 2004, 08:54:57 PM
Was wondering if any1 could help me as ive had this problem a while...

When ever im playing cs on a server i get well lag spikes on my keyboard and sometimes mouse  <_<  its nothing to do with my ping and neither of them are wireless.

When i mean lag i mean for example when i go straff from left to right it sometimes seems to carry going on in one direction for longer than it should it seems to get worse when gun fire is happening around me.

So i was wondering if any1 has had simular thing like this happen to them or if there is and settings i can change etc. And would it help to dl the latest driver for my graphics card?

I used to get lots of mouse lag like that. It was due to a setting on my graphics card. IIRC turning off VSync cured it (found in display properties page)

HTH?

This kind of thing happens to me when I've inadvertantly left Teamspeak running.

Check in Control Panel for the keyboard applet. Run it and see what repeat interval and repeat rate you have set.

My settings are like this:

Check that there are no repeat rate settings enabled in the BIOS as well - it can interfere with OS applied rates.

...another thought. Are your KB and Mouse USB or PS2? If PS2 then this question is irrelevant. If they are USB then go into device manager, find the USB Root Hub entries and untick the box that allows the PC to "power save" the USB Hub. Do this for each root hub (4 in my case below):
