Title: Sound Triggers
Post by: Dr Sadako on March 16, 2004, 01:56:26 PM
Sound triggers are common on all the standard maps. Most people don't know that they are actually making sounds eventhough they sneak around on the map. Basically what happens is, when you walked past / over a certain point in a map, it triggers a sound. You can not avoid them but you can use them to your advantage.

Here are some examples.

Survivor
- The eagle will scream when you walk in the bottom of the ravine.
- Wooden bridge will squel when walked on
- Snow bridge will collapse.

Lightning on Aztec
- Middle of bridge
- Middle of stairs, going up from water
(- DD counter-terrorist side cs1.5)
(- Arch at T spawn)

The lightning will strike exactly when you pass one of these areas.

Train
- Going under the "popdog train" (the trains with a dog sprayed on one side) and a dog barks. Trains are on track 3 and 4 opposite side of CT spawn.

Cobble
There are lots of metal bars between areas and when you run over them they will give away a metal like sound. If you walk over them no sound will be issued. :)

There are a few more but I think you have to do some work as well. :)

how annoying! I thought only Survivor had that feature! That means we can't really expect to do anything sneaky on the bridge  nuts!

Good to know! Something else to help one get accused of cheating

Can't say I've ever noticed a dog bark on train before though...

Yup. I use that a lot. Very good to 'spot' the bridge rush and throwing a well placed flash before wiping out the most of the T team. ;)

There are some more sound triggers on e.g. Piranesi. Go looking lads! :D

In the map de_clanmil....

You can hear water sounds when someone is in the sewer.
(most of the time near a sewer exit so that you know that they are comming your way or not)
