Shurely shome mishtake.
Oh please tell me they are joking!!!
Oh
My
God!
Now I have high hopes for this one. The original book was set in Victorian times and was an absolute belter. The book was nothing at all like the 1950's film and if Speiberg does it justic,e it could be an very good indeed. Then again it might just be another AI :(.
I expect them to shift it to the USA but otherwise follow the book. Cruise is about the right age to play HG Wells hero and like Speilberg, also has enough integrity to stick to the book.
I guess we'll see
chances of anything coming from Mars, are a million to one, he said........chances of anything coming from Mars, are a million to one......but still they come....budadum budadum..chang chang chang
Thanks for your valid imput to the debate. You make some thought provoking points that we should indeed all dwell upon.
:eyebrow:
ok.
I always visualised it as something out of the old Tripods TV series. I think that throwing millions at it will ruin the imagination which I feel was one of the keys to the draw of the original.
As long as the film remains honest to the Martians landing near Woking (Horsell Common) and then trundling up the A3 to London.
They can refuel at the BP just after Guildford and they should be OK but might need to watch for the speed cameras around Hook and Tolworth.
If they pick up some Beechams Lemsips at the BP it may make for a more succesful invasion
And they have to pick up Benny because they left him on earth for a while. ;)
I still like JW's musical version, that's good enough for me, but the film should be oldie stylee (no pun intended). Modern would not work imo.

They had better not stop at the BP services.....wasn't that what killed them the first time around??
Hope they don't turn off on to the M25. There'll be endless sequels and they'll never reach London.

A the famous BP croisant.
Much like the French croissant, only with less 's'.
Duh! It's a convenience food, the less Ss in it makes it faster to purchase and eat!
don't know about a paper and almond filling though, do they do one with just the almond?
