models in halflife turned out to be quite painful when I tried them. try the counter map forums for old threads on modelling. there were some useful links in there I think, but it wasn't the simplest thing ever!

and it would appear some of my old links are still there in IE (good thing I dont use it much eh ;) )

main counter-map page - forums are handy for all of this stuff (http://countermap.counter-strike.net/)
some halflife tutorials, maybe a bit out of date now (http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/resources/halflife/tutorials.shtml)
another tutorial... (http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=19&t=20223)
and a tut for milkshape, which was the HL model editor of choice, with a 30-day trial. (http://www.karljones.com/halflife/models/milkshape/milkshape_tutorial.asp)

I know I've seen a tutorial for the weapon switching thing somewhere, I have an idea it was one fo the polycount tutorials (2nd link in that list) but I cant really remember... old brain suffering under overload!

good luck :thumb:
