Title: N-Gauge, t610
Post by: suicidal_monkey on March 25, 2004, 09:01:11 PM
Right then, I'm browsing for a new handset with a cheap mobile deal. Best deal I've found in my league is a vodafone £15 monthly offer with 100 Xnetwork minutes and £8 worth sms/mms/etc (which is ~65 sms) and the phones they're offering that I'm really rather interested in are the nokia 6610, nokia N-Gauge, sonyE t610.

I'm gonna try get a look at an N-Gauge to get a feel for it, but I'd welcome any comments, especially from anyone who has one! 8)

Bearing in mind I don't actually want it for the games, but rather for the fact that it plays mp3's. Other than the FM radio and mp3 capabilities I'd be picking the t610. I would go for the nokia 3300, but thats not in the offer...

 :help:
too many offers, too much choice

oops, read the n gauge bit and thought model railways

Then picked up the mobbily phone thing and remembered what my nephew said about using his n-gage as a phone:

"when you're talking on it, it looks like you're speaking into a pasty"

perhaps nokia should start selling ginsters phone skins.

N-gage - stay well well well away.

It makes you look like a typical geeky schoolkid....

Its expensive, heavy, unpractical, and generally.... crap

thought the N-gauge and 3300 were the same sort of size? The 3300 isnt on the deal unfortunately...else I'd pick it, as I don't care about the games.

Hmmm, same sort of thing other people said, and I do recall seeing them and thinking they weren't exaclt nice. I just thought a phone that could play music would be great for train journeys...

no-one at all going to back it up then

maybe I'll ring them and see if they'll do the offer slightly differently for me...

do you still have the "ginster effect" when making calls?

And why is it that no-one wants to offer the 3300 on a deal :eyebrow:
perhaps if I speak nicely to them...

Simply, monkey, according to your avatar.

Turn your gun around they other way. People are very respectful and accommodating then.

Forget the T610. It's display is totally unreadable in daylight.

Right then, I've closed my eyes and signed up for one of the 3g e2save deals (http://www.e2save.com/?money4me271575). Getting a Motorola A835 (http://commerce.motorola.com/consumer/QWhtml/m_a835.html) (though with 64mb memory I suspect, not 256...) with 500sms/50min bundled for 12.50 a month (half price deal thingumy)

it's a big phone with crappy battery life, but then it does video, mp3, etc, etc, plus it works under gsm (though I should have 14 days to verify this) and they give me £20 for anyone else who signs up under one of their deals :D you know you want to! http://www.e2save.com/?money4me271575 (http://www.e2save.com/?money4me271575)
