Thats it really
Your not sitting near me at the lan if you are going to be tapping the desk all day!
I've played guitar now for 11 or 12 years. I have 5 or 6, maybe 7 guitars (when we moved into our house, I almost needed my own road crew ) of various types. Acoustic & electric. My Les Paul is my prize.
I'm on the left in this one:

my favorite amp set up:

It doesn't go to 11, but it rates 107dB w/o any effects pushing it higher. 2 cabs with 4x10" Celestions each.
and finally, hopefully my little one will take it up too

How do you know that's him? He might be the one wearing the yellow romper suit?
hehe
I'm Scot by descent, McBain->Beane. However, my wife's parents (McCallum) emmigrated from Scotland, so it fit right for our ceremony.

As for the amp & neighbors: I stopped many hacks from playing while at college just by turning it up to '7', cranking out whatever song they were trying to learn while having their amps turned to full and then enjoying the silence of them putting their gear away. I have been asked by the police to turn my radio off before. I said thanks for the compliment and that I would happily oblige.
Ahhh yes a man with my kind of attitude to music excellent!!
Nice Kilt Bob, I know someone who recently wore one of those to get married.
Me :).
I have 2 Electric Guitars, Fender Strat and a Shaftsbury Les Paul (1952) with a replica painting of the art work from Fools Gold on the he front (Stone Roses, Dolphin Picture).
4 acoustic guitar. A 1971 Yamaha 6 string which isby baby and sounds delightful, easiest guitar to play in the world. An Eros 12 string, real heavyweight but with the action so low you it is a doddly to play. An Eros 6 string, another heavyweight but sound great.
Finally a Hofner 3/4 nylon strung acoustic from 1920. Bit old and battered but it sounds nice.
I also have a couple of harps (moothies for you tramps out there).
Very nice gear Albert. Congrats on the wedding too!
My gear list:
Electrics
Les Paul - Black Standard - 1992
ESP KH-502 - Kirk Hammett Limited Ed (skull & crossbones on the 12th fret)
Ibanez Roadstar II - currently stripped to the wood and refinishing. Will be re-assembled with 2 Seymour Duncan humbuckers and a split coil humbucker. Should yield 9 different sounds when completed: Bridge - Middle 1 - Middle 2- Neck pickups: B/B+M1/B+M2/M1/M2/N+M1/N+M2/N/B+N
Acoustics
Epiphone PR-5 Acoustic Electric (cutaway body)
Seagull G12 - 12 string acoustic
Kay Archtop w/F-holes circa late50/early60's - restored (plays beautifully)
Yamaha - strings are way high, use it for slide
Stratolite nylon string. Bang around guitar, bought at yard sale and the strings cost more than it did.

Finally got them out of storage and into the new house.
I play the Digeridoo, if that helps?
digging up an old thread?
I play guitar too, an Aria Pro II.
Bougth it in the eighties (bright Orange  ) .
Bass Guitar (and regular guitars, but mainly powerchords, badly, on those ;) )
Got an Ibanez Roadster whose electronics is a bit old and needs redoing sometime. Active circuitry is slightly bust due to old age, but the passive bits fine, which is what I use anyway.
Speaker's a 15" Fane custom (150Wrms continuous) speaker in a home-made cab that could probably use a bit more padding.
100Wrms mosfet poweramp sitting semi-completed, still needs a preamp section.
I also have a rusting clarinet on which I once achieve Grade7 level, but then it's been virtually unused for 5 or 6 years.
I play a Grand Piano, suckers...

Thats how I felt about mine. 4 years now it's been in pieces...
I've rewired and replaced the jack socket a few times, and rewired some of the electronics. Passive circuitry works fine (active never sounded that much better/different anyway) Would be nice to fix the active stuff and maybe sort out the pickups etc one day. It wouldn't take me too long I think, as the band would be a bit annoyed if I left it in bits like my amp (6 years that has been waiting to be completely finished... )
My memory is too long, I remembered this thread existed.
Goofing around last week with a picture assignment on Flickr and ended up doing this as well.

Pretty cool Bob! I play a fair few instruments obviously to varying standards :P. My main one is guitar just to be clichéd. :D
Jews Harp me:D
Virtuoso...
seriously..
ask Tox:)
why don't you believe me?:eyebrow:
Used to play Piano (5th Grade) and Oboe (god I hated that instrument!). I was also a keen vocalist too! :D
Didjeridoo :flirty:
I play bass but I haven't played a gig in about 9 months so it's just one of my many "distractions" to draw me away from doing my work at the moment.
i play guitar hero, does that count? :)

Nice :)
I've got 2 guitars and mess around on them with some help from lee (skype rox for intercontinental jam sessions :P) but I am pretty **** at guitar nonetheless :P
Thanks Lee & Blue :)
Er.. Drums, when I get them set up.
Banjo !!! not quite got it yet but passable if ya drunk :lmfao:
I have an acoustic guitar I can't play and don't spend enough time trying to learn...
Bad me!
I've played guitars (accoustic/electric/6+12 string), keyboards, bodhran, bones, penny whistle, banjo (6-string cheating), mandolin and melodeon. Busked on the streets, in bars, played clubs, halls and even (local)TV. I've even played support to Tom Paxton in Germany.
I no longer play any instruments. :crying:
Wow Dog, impressive list of instruments O_O
Surely there must be a good incentive for you to pick one of them up again? :D

no Jews harp then?:crying:
I've got a lovely cherry red early Tokai Goldstar Strat (The lawsuit guitar, for those in the know).
But same as Venom, I've never put aside the time to learn it.
I bought it about 12 years ago when I worked with a guy who was a session guitarist in his spare time, cost me just over £200 2nd hand but it's a beauty and worth a fair bit more now.
Recently one of my brothers has renewed his guitaring interest and has bought a couple of new ones, including the current Tokai Goldstar, but he realy wants mine. He did actually take the time to learn and knock out a few tunes. He also told me about the lessons you can get off YouTube to learn.
I might actually try one day.
i have got a Richwood Strat Sunburt colours :D it's a cheap guitar, just to get the hang of it... i'm saving up for a Fender Tele Butterscotch :D
I've moved on from piano/keyboard now:
Currently play guitar and ukelele and just started on the harmonica...
I used to play a trumpet but got bored to it so novadays I'm more into listening when my girlfriend performs with her band:D
Clarinet, Bass guitar, ...and I guess a little guitar too :)
did grade 6 for Clarinet many moons ago, and was probably up to grade 7 level by the time I stopped playing it enough (instrument's in need of a serious overhaul before it'd make a decent sound again though). It's on my to do list...
Played bass for a number of little bands (varying from pop/rock to thrash&"Nu" metal) back in Zim and here in the UK through uni although it's been on the shelf for a year or so. I can make a decent enough noise on a guitar, though mainly a choice between bass-y technique or power-chords :flirty:
Once the PhD is properly over I've already got taking up the bass in a band down on my work "personal developement plan" objectives :D. Anyone in London thinking about starting up a bit of a band thing...it's in the back of my mind atm:)
