Ok, well, yesterday while bored & hungover I decided that i'd open my pc up & have a look in there as I'd not done it since I brought it, as you can imagine there was a years worth of dust gathered in there, so I fetched the hoover & gave it a nice clean out, it all went well, or so I thought. Upon putting it all back together & restarting I got a mssg telling me there was possibly something wrong with my hdd & it wants to check it, I figured fine & left it to do its thing, but now it seems it wants to do it everytime I start my comp, anyone got any ideas what ive done and how to put it right?
I bit of a long shot but open up the PC again and make sure everything is well seated. Make a point to check the HDD ribbons, but basically give everything (ram, graphics card, sound card and cables) is well shoved in.
You might have knocked something while you were spring cleaning ???
I thought it was not advisable to put a hoover anywhere near your PC?
Correct, they can generate static. You can get anti static hoovers 9we have one at work).
However, that may not be the prob. have a look here (http://forums.windrivers.com/showthread.php?p=437712#post427818)
