Title: Joining the easy side
Post by: Dr Sadako on October 27, 2002, 10:29:54 AM
I have seen this repeatedly the last few weeks. Assault comes up and the teams are 6 Ts and 4 CTs. Same on many other maps.
Comments like "I like T" or "I wanna snipe" isn't very PCS and is not a good reason to choose a side on a map. Look at the score, number of players, team composition, and type of map, before joining. If the teams were even the previous map just switch sides. We are here to play PCS not to get easy sniper kills on roadhouse ...

And if teams are 3 vs 3 (or less) on a de map they are probably playing one site only. Join CT even if they are winning. Then you open up the possibility to play both sites. If they already are playing both you can always switch.

I always do this where possible.

I've recently even played as CT on assault.

As you say, with no team balancing there is no excuse... you see assault on then it should be more like 1.5:1 in CT favour IE T4 Vs CT 6

We still have a lot of new heathens on the server who need the respect for PCS beating into them  :)

Yep it's a snipers map. Always has been always will be.
There's a couple of snipeaholics always join T regardless of score or numbers (you know who you are I've mentioned in game a few times).........
But on the other hand, I can't talk myself as I always go CT on de-train (if I'm on from the start), cause I like using rifles to pick off rushing Ts legging it into the B bombsite.
But there's no excuse for joining your favorite team or the strong team when the scores or numbers dictate you join th other side.
Offenders should be slayed as they are told to switch teams.  :whip:

Does this mean that it's time to ressurect one of the original deadman website's most popular front page discussion threads?  You know the one I mean, the infamous: "Does my bum look big in this?"  8O

i just press 5 autoselect twice which is maybe the wrong thing to do cos while  it might make the teams equal in numbers, on a map like assault, someone said you should have maybe 4 ts to 6cts so ill choose more carefully next time :)

and im not a sniperholic ! its all your fault for making me use the scout instead of the awp in the first place, and now i love it :D

I have such a crumbly setup that I usually drop off the server when the map changes. Therefore I always re-connect about three rounds in. Immediately I join the team that is winning. As soon as I do, I get in the way, get lost with the bomb and generally muck it up, thus causing my team too loose and thereby balancing the teams.

Hussah!

Along those lines /. Sometimes, at the map change, the final score sits there, 'loading' comes up and then the score card turns 'negative'. that's to say it goes black with white text. It then hangs. So I have to exit and reconnect. By which time everyone else is 50yards up the road! As Harry Hill would say 'What's that all about?'  :?

If that happens then just press your console key and type into it "retry," the same thing happens to me most of the time i play on UK2 servers, it saves exiting and restarting cs.

P.s.  If anyone ask's i'll never admit to playing on uk2.   :x

I agree, however I actually prefer playing CT on assault, especially on public servers as the T's are usually just doing anything and everything in the warehouse, most look for the easy kills at the front door and vents.

The back door is always guarded by people who are so predictably placed you can take them out through the walls and enter and then pick off people inside with their backs turned... PCS I am sure is different as he hossies are the priority and Im sure you have better methods of holding the choke points under a tight reign.

I resent that comment.... :D

I always join the side that is loosing but it needs to be greater than 2 rnds.
But each map needs a certain amount of people on each side. Cant you set it so that on certain maps like assault for example have a team allocated slots so that you can determine that you have at least 1 or more cts too make the map more fair.

Is this vote anonymous or will my vote be made public for open persecution when I admit to hounding Sadako ?

It's not fair, he always gets me.  Grrrrr.   :P

Then again, maybe I should learn to run more.  Shoot AND move, now there's a novel idea   8)
