Dead Men Walking

I'm ariving on Stansted by Easyjet with flight 3884, departure from Amsterdam 17:20, arrival Londen Stansted 17:30.  :o I'm even going back in time.  <_< Mhhhmmzzz, where's the car from back to the future when you need it.  ;)
So if anyone is around that area and can pick me up, I would apreciate it alot.

I aim to arrive at the LAN at about 12pm, but I'll drive down to Stansted and pick you up if nobody else volunteers.

I can take him back no problems. I can even be a co-pilot for you TL (I don't know the layout of stanstead so if I'm the return driver, it'd be really useful)

I'm driving past Stanstead, but it will be about  12pm. I'm also fully loaded both there and back with Dingo and Chimpy.

Stanstead is very straight forward, you either need the  North or a South Terminal. They are sign posted, so depending on which Duval is coming in and or leaving by, then just either use the associated short stay car park or sit in the pick up point for the appropriate terminal and hope you don't get moved on by the police  <_<

I'll be there to pick you up Duvel.  :)

I have some transport problems of my own at the moment (smashed my car up badly last Thursday) but I will have a hire car for the weekend.

Another question: I'm bringing my HD of 160 GB aswell. How do I have to take this with me through customs and so? Do I take it in my handlugage and take it out at the scan or is it not a problem? Any idea?

Take it in your hand luggage or in your pocket. Do not place it in the cargo so to say. It will be destroyed or stolen.

It is not a problem in customs. I had a extra HDD with me last LAN and it was no problem.

IMPORTANT

if u r bringing it in hand luggage it will go through those scanners for metal be careful as they will want to open it up incase it is a bomb sad gits they r. if they say it is ok then they won't but to make sure ur data isn't wiped wrap it in silver foil so the beams reflect back plus make sure they take care of it and don't let them put it thru tht scanner machine it may wipe itsself

Just what he wanted to hear.  :(   I don't think that's true though. My digital camera has been through loads of times and I haven't lost anything yet. Same principal isn't it?

My comp and HDD went through scanners two times last lan and there was no problem. I really don't see how it could affect it tbh. It is x-rays with pretty low energy we are talking about and it would need a lot to knock out atoms. If it was high energy I think you should worry more about putting fabric through as it could light a fire.  :)

I will ask the person at the machine to sort it out. More info at the LAN.

yes he knows! my dad takes his laptop with him when he goes to meetings (about 1  month) and never had a problem. (oh i handed in my coursework that u helped on and i got an A :) so thanks )
